He got in Guy and Walker and we were unlucky to lose them both. I don't know why people are acting so shocked and surprised. I believe he can get it right and assemble a decent squad. Its what's going on behind the scenes that concerns me most.

When Ribeiro was appointed many said Smurthwaite only had to google his name to realise he was a disaster. I've just googled Brown, Kelly and Morgan's history as coaches and temporary managers. My God, Ribeiro sounds like Conte in comparison to them three.

I said previously I would support any manager until I felt they were not doing the best for Vale. Brown has done nothing for me yet but I'm prepared to see how it goes for the time being.

 

However I think this appointment will do NOWT for morale or bringing back the "floater fans."

 

My hope now is that we get new owners in might quickly to give us all a lift and they can sort out the huge mess Mr Blobby has left us in.

Brown had the whole of January to replace Annick,Grant and Jones but dithered and farted about until he missed his main targets.Don't think his appointment will thrill the fans and help to sell season tickets.How long is his contract (until Christmas I hope)A long contract means a big pay off when he goes.

Is their a performance clause saying top six by Christmas or he goes. Don't think Garlick and Fradley have the balls to insert that in his contract.Just waiting to see what his retained list is before I buy. If Kelly and co are on it won't bother.

We also had a truly awful injury list. I'm not saying he did a good job at all I'm just saying he inherited utter crap and I'm quietly confident he will bring together a half decent squad.

 

Agree with this, no money spent on a new management team, probably the most sensible route at the moment, giving Brown a proper chance including a full pre-season. I'm also hoping we're luckier with injuries next season, but some have blamed this seasons long list on a lack of fitness in Bruno's squad.

 

Try and hold on to the four or five decent players we have and build up a squad around them who can be competitive in league 2

I was originally against Brown but tbh it wasn't going to be anyone else and to be fair to him after hearing him speak following the Fleetwood game and today at the press conference then he is swaying me,he knows what he wants so lets see who he can get to the club,lose the first few games and i might be joining the moaners but for now Brown and his team will get my backing 110%

It was a ridiculous post. Its like Chelsea selling Courtois, Kante and Costa and expecting to still win the league.

Erniemossrules clearly knows more than we do though and witnessed Brown dithering over signings until it was too late.

He lost the three biggest players in the club during January, two of them on the last day. He replaced Jones with Tyler Walker who was scoring before he got a season ending injury, he replaced Grant with Guy who we were all raving about before he got a season ending injury. He then lost a host of other players to injury at different points and had to patch together a team from what was left.

 

Give him a chance to play a fair hand.

In the Premier League they got 8, if you include all competitions and full backs not just centre backs they got 16 yes (but not 20)

We desperately neede a striker or possibly two so he bought in a midfielder and goalkeeper.

He had the chance to sign Proctor and another striker plus a goalie but dithered over paying an extra £50 a week.

Bet he wishes he had now.

He bought in 7 players that were worse than the players he had already got. He disrupted morale by not playing the foreign players like Amoros and don't tell me Tavares was not better than some of his geriatric signings.
