What is this thing about bringing back ex-players. Why do fans and players do it? Players risk damaging their fine reputation and being a club hero for a 2nd go at it. Pope for me was a Vale Hero. He wore the shirt with pride and gave everything and I would hate to see him damage that by coming back and not being able to recreate it and then seeing the fans get on his back.

 

Brown needs to bring in new blood and allow players to become fans hero's.

 

To put another angle to it if Micky Adams had not returned we might not have got promoted, or if Brian Horton had not come back we might not of won the Ldv trophy, for me you have to take each case on it's own merits, for me Popey would still offer us something in lg2, he is currently streets ahead of anything we currently have upfront with what he offers you so I would be happy for him to return but not if it was for a huge wage.

Peterborough have a better history of developing young and/or potential players than we do. He might not have done as well with us?

We should see Nathan a bit quicker next season,carrying that weight around for half a season must have slowed him down.

Wasn't he rumoured to be on about 200k? On that basis 40% would NOT be good value

Posh have done nothing with him yet, aside from sign him. He's not linked up with them yet. Even we couldn't balls a player up without them setting foot in Burslem.

Couple of players in the lg2 play offs looked decent, the lad Cullen at Blackpool and Reuben Reid at Exeter looked like just what we needed upfront! Carlisle also had a few decent lads, Nicky Adams in midfield looked useful aswell, Guess it will depend what budget/reputation we have to attract better quality players.

 

Middle range budget **** poor reputation.
