Be waiting a while then :(

its a case of clearing the over grown garden and being more leaner, we are top heavy with costs for a bloated squad, would have hoped if ryan lloyd is going that his fee and saved wage + pattos could have been used in addition to the percentage of his Birmingham wage we were already paying to get him.

Good luck to the lad he gave everything and was never our player which turned out mutually beneficial for the time he was here... if any budget is free, as much as we need a forward a commanding box to box midfielder is a must as currently any forward doesnt get much service to thrive on.

Hopefully we are making savings that can be re-invested

Good luck to Jones wherever he goes, he's defiantly a talent. However, I can't help but feel sneaked that Jones has obviously decided to join another club because he will be on a bigger wage. As we have seen before the grass isn't always greener on the other side. He was at a club where the fans loved him and where he was guaranteed to play but he's chose in favour of another club. It's a big gamble from Jones but best of luck to him!

That would contradict the money he's already splurged over a number of years. If anyone really thinks we can compete financially with the big clubs including Bradford in this league I'd be amazed.

Yes, because 35 free transfers of players, who even Phil Sproson said are on pittance wages, and loan players is splashing the cash  Obviously nothing to do with the £900K that the club got from the league at the start of the season and income from the club that has been spent. 4 years on and still no transfer fee paid for a player, and we wonder why are heading downwards fast.

To be fair to Norman, we've paid a couple of fees in that time and transfer fees are pretty rare in our league, especially with teams who are (sensibly IMO) trying to operate within their means. I have many criticisms of the chairman but I don't think it's right to accuse him of withholding money for new players, particularly this season.

Harsh I'd say as we have paid at least one fee for a player and he has facilitated the signing of some quality and set very competitive budgets but ultimately he doesn't choose how managers spend their budget (worse luck in the case of the last two managers).

I don't see how we are heading downwards fast, despite the appointment of two promising managers that turned out to be failures we remain mid way in the division above where he took us over.

It's difficult to comment unless you know the facts and figures concerned, we don't know what his agent was demanding. I would have pushed the boat out a little but where would you draw the line?

Having said that had we gone for quality and not overloaded with quantity we may have been able to afford him.

Strikers who score goals command good money. Jones played himself into a good negotiating position during the first half of this season and earned himself a decent move somewhere else.

Any decent striker (or his agent) knows his market value and if we want to engage the services of one we will have to pay the going rate.

Ever since Norman started banging on about Pope being overpaid during his last season at Vale, the club has been making false economies in this department.
