I know it's not the same as for the indecent amounts of pelf splashed on some Premiership players, but compared to the average punter on the terraces most of the L1 and L2 players earn a decent wedge for kicking a ball around the paddock.

We could talk about players attitudes all day but it's a problem across the board and unfortunately that's the culture of football...it's not going to go away....We will rarely see the loyalty that used to exist back in the day.

 

The key is having leadership and a manager that can deal with the modern day game....I feel we are lacking in both.

The trouble is when teams are struggling and form dips it becomes very hard to pull out of it when the relegation whirlpool is sucking you down.

 

Everything seems to go wrong. Injuries to key players. Talk of off the field problems. Fans getting on the backs of players. Suspensions. A revolving door team selection. Silence over contracts. The manager trotting out excuses each week. And so it goes on.

We've seen it all before and the only way out of it is hard graft, commitment and a bit of luck.

 

However hard it is we do need to pull together and support one another. Recriminations can wait until May. As the cliche goes we've got 5 cup finals now until the end of the season.

I'm assuming they're off from training today as since MA left they decided that they would be the nice guys and give the lads the easy life. It's really not training anyway. Picture the scene...... Page is stood on the half way line of the bycars pitch, looking through his phone for replies to any other managerial posts he's applied for..... whilst Glover ( in between having his hands in his coat pockets ) coaches them by throwing a ball into a players path for them to control and take a shot on goal............. Grew fetches the ball.

Whilst the players take it in turn to take this Glover coaching on board, the others waiting are running in and out of the cones that Grew'y has set out.

End of session, Glover goes down the butty shop whilst Grew'y gathers the kit....

Lot of truth in that comment. My belief is that Smurf cannot comment as he honestly doesn't know what to do next. The general low atmosphere that surrounds Vale Park at present is going to be virtually impossible to remove barring a miracle!
