Can't understand the negativity after a performance and result like today. I thought it was the best performance of the season. We looked like a proper team and what a difference that made. I said in the pub after the game that DIpepa's goal reminded me of Michael Owen's goal against Argentina, so it's nice to see that others thought that too. Ben Garrity's goal booked better on the replay as he calmly sat the keeper down before slotting it past him. I have to admit that in many games this season I have been gone before the final whistle but today I along with most of the fans stayed to applaud the lads. It was obvious that something has fundementaly changed and that there is now a togetherness that has not been there all season. I did predict a 2-0 scoreline but to put it in context I always predict a Vale win but this is the first time this season that I have got it right. Tonight Matthew, I am a happy Vale fan.

So people are criticizing Dipepas goal? It's one of the best I've ever seen. Today was a complete performance. Defenders defended well. Ripley with no shots to save. Sang has his best game. Plant full of running,stayed close to his man. Hardly any crosses in from the opposition wingers. Middle 3 were solid,Garrity played well(hope he's not injured) Chizzy and Lofty defended well from the front. Lofty deserved a goal...looks a different player. DiPepa? What a goal. I've said before that clean sheets will get you a point minimum. Lots of challenges going in today. The last 2 games have given us hope. We can't rely on opposition dropping points...it's down to us. We got 2 points closer to Burton and Shrewsbury. 3 points further away from Fleetwood. It's been a good day

2 weeks ago he wouldn't have even attempted that run for the goal. You could tell as soon as he came on the kid looked about 2 foot taller. Incredible what a bit of confidence & backing can do, especially for a young player. Great goal & a very decent performance.

So was Ryan Giggs' "Wonder goal" against Arsenal!!! Why so desperate to snatch credit from a 17 year old young man? Also, as it didn't happen, there is absolutely no guarantee a different defender would have stopped him!

You can say on almost all goals there was something the defence could have done better. Defenders at this level hate players running at them. Always have and always will. Got to have a go though to make it happen and Baylee showed the confidence and technique to put them on their heels.

We are about to see how bad this team really want it. Take the passion and the togetherness into any game as we did with Burton and we stand a chance. As long as they turn up and try their damn best now, that's all I want. Shows really how poor its been. All eyes will be on Loft today, he should have some confidence in himself from last week and good on him for getting that goal. Really is the hope that kills you isn't it? I'm going 1-0 Vale, Loft to score a tap in.

The mercurial Ben Garrity was again outstanding. He has duracell batteries fitted in his chest. He is everywhere. He coolly slots home goals like a seasoned Harry Kane. Admittedly I am biased as I always feel He is the gel that holds Vale together. Our future has to be built round him and young B D up front. Please Ben get over the injury and continue to orchestrate our miracle escape. Absolutely enjoyed today. Smiling faces leaving the ground, ovations to the players and management- why oh why have we left it this late to show the grit, determination, guile and purpose to ensure our stay in Division 1? Great things happen when bad eggs leave the club! We have looked a club transformed since Mr. Narcissist left the club. That performance today was, like last week, outstanding. Players were superb. Manager and coaching staff got it spot on. A special mention to Dipepa, who I’ve said on many occasions that he should be plying his trade in non league, but the lad looked a proper talent. It all has to be down to Flitcroft. It’s way too much of a coincidence that we look a really good team since his departure. Dipepas goal reminded me a bit of Owens v Argentina. All be it he did handle the ball at the start of the run but we will take it all day long. Loft. Where has that lad been all season?!! Superb performance. Debrah. Smith. Yak. Nothing was getting past them. Absolute beasts at the back. What’s happened there!!! Chizzy. Ran himself into the ground. Garrity and Ojo. Ran the show. Sang and Plant. Superb performances. The fans. Great energy. Just superb all around. And it’s amazing how a director of football leaving the club can bring everyone together and show that kind of performance again. We still have a massive job on our hands but momentum is massive at this stage of the season. 3 away games coming up. After those 3 games, if we are still within touching distance of staying up I honestly believe we will. What a turnaround in the last 10 days. The hope is real.

We need all the help we can get

Firstly I've been really impressed with James Plant over the last couple of games. He is starting to look like an accomplished wingback on both sides. Excellent and important 3 points. It's going to be incredibly competitive between now and the end of April. Today was probably the last game for James Wilson as a Port Vale player. Looked very much like a hamstring. Hopefully Garrity was more of a precaution, we need him fit for the remaining games. Monday is now the biggest game of the season. Best chance of an away win on paper.

For me, like I’ve said, Moore had walked into an absolute shambles. With very poor players. Or so it seemed. His record was awful. His subs were baffling. His set up was delusional at times. But I backed him because of the “awful” players at his disposal. Hindsight. Wonderful thing. But blatantly obvious that Darren wasn’t having 100% control in what he wanted to do. His interview when he walked through the door mentioned “Dave” a dozen times or more. It was excruciating. That was the power that Flitcroft had and how brainwashed Carol was. Now we are seeing those “awful” players flourish. A new lease of life. IF we stay up this should be a massive wake up to Carol that we never go through this again. Loads of hope now and optimism for the end of season push to safety.

Just watched DM's pre match press conference and unless I'm much mistaken he had an animation I have not seen before. The squad have obviously taken great heart and pride not only on the win against Burton, but maybe even more so the performance. I am feeling a lot more confident about tomorrow but not getting carried away, it really is a case of get a win and its game on. Lose and it's game over. My prediction for what it's worth is 2-0 to the mighty whites.

If only it had been a P45 and not a dewey-eyed “open letter”, she’d given Flitcroft… It can’t be a coincidence that as soon as he’s gone we’ve torn two teams to shreds, kept two clean sheets and with some better finishers (thanks Flitcroft) we could’ve had a hatful of goals.

Trying to get him to play football as we've done this season has been absolutely criminal and totally baffling. If he sticks to the basics and doesn't what he's good at, which is kicking and heading it away, he's not a problem at all.

Just a pity that Cambridge, Shrewsbury, Cheltenham, Reading & Burton all picked up useful points this afternoon!

Brilliant win. Some much fight and determination, I can’t believe its the same side as a few weeks ago (well since DF left) everyone contributed. Even Massey for the 5 mins he was on did excellent. Uche is such a nightmare to play against and if he stays fit we have a big chance. Dipepa, I thought he was outstanding today, some class there. Everyone turned up, some much fight and determination. The shape was excellent throughout, they showed nothing but have good players, our shape was excellent and another clean sheet. Results not gone our way but the biggest one has. We needed to win and we have. I fancy us on Monday. They have nothing to play for No matter what happens I’m more positive for next season. Get in there. Lots of twists and turns ahead.

Sides at the bottom usually turn it on at this stage. I’m just glad we’ve joined the party and showing some fight. Gives us as good a chance as anyone.
