There’s no way we’re playing any youth team players en masse, they’re just not up to it yet (I know some will say the first team aren’t either). Something Garrity said in his post match interview really struck me:

We spoke before the game about how key communication was from everyone. Not just the ones who normally speak on the pitch, everyone was. We have people who don’t normally speak, shouting, ‘shift left or right,’ this and that. You need that every week so hopefully we can take those things (into the league)”.

It beggars belief that there are players out there who don’t talk. No wonder we’re all over the place at times.

The reason why Garrity games had high win ratios last season, apart from his energy he was the talker, as you would expect as captain.

I was going to have a bid on a couple but I’m currently a bit dubious because, & I know this is a very very long shot, when Vale players were grabbing Chelsea shirts after the game yesterday, how many had to give their shirts to the Chelsea players?

Also, if I was Vale player, would like to keep my shirt that I played in yesterday

Magliore shirt anyone?

Agree with all of that, but for one detail. The ground. Despite notorious big money owners and despite plenty of success in the last 20 years clearly none of that cash has been spent on the ground. I suspect the last major uplift was in the bates era.

Any thing up to £Billion to refurbish, and playing elsewhere for 1 or 2 seasons. New ground near by more than a £Billion?

Wife who doesn’t go many games was surprised how run down it was, the seating area was ok but the roof looked a mess and the Stanchions were brown in some areas, just needed a lick of paint and maybe some new roofing panels would help. Way below say the Etihad etc.

Nah, Magliore, Gray, Hernandez, Sherif, Archer all just as underwhelming and are Brady choices. Garrity, Ojo nothing to do with Moore.

Actually my MOM choices (term used loosely) were between Ojo and Gabriel. Both looked very good. Ojo to his credit played very well in my view, the only guy who looked composed and passed the ball well. We may have given him a rough judgment over the years, but as a core footballer with the ball at his feet, he showed he is probably our best.

I have never been to Chelsea but the Shed is the cheap end and the structure from when it was converted from terracing, the sides are usually more expensive and modernized in the 90s

I thought Chelseas ground was lovely like the option of standing up .

My ladies Aunty got it spot on, one teamwas fit and up for it ,and we were not and that is down too coaching staff and management

So this dreadful season is on recruitment ...and motivation

Heads need roll not because of yesterday, because the overall efforts of 25 /26 season

Could not even find extra energy for the support on a quarter final .

People watching there views are very welcome as i was too busy enjoying the support you going too Wembley we going too York as in a way thats giving it our own players and deserved ...

Bet anyone who attended 1954 quarter final totally at a loss at what saw yesterday ...

Pretty obvious lost changing room, when starts 2 jet lagged lads on the left side and Sherif instead of Stockley

Support like i say made the defeat less worse than it was .

The manager needs be asked how much as he  improved us

You tell me

Im seeing no improvements

Hancocks work im hardly surprised

Considering the season we've had our fans were excellent today (bar the odd one or two idiots). As others said conceding that early meant our afternoon and cup run was over pretty quickly. Good experience none the less to visit a ground I wouldn't usually have the opportunity to.

The West Stand looked like they tried to clean it by leaving dishwasher tablets up on the roof and they'd been melted by rain.

It's no surprise they want a new ground, there are many Championship and some lower EFL stadiums in much better shape than the Bridge.

In terms of modern stadia it's very far behind.

Annoys me as well seeing Jonathan Wilkes tweets where he was in the hospitality with Carol acting like he’s a fan. Why is ownership inviting local celebrities to go with them? They seem to get very enamoured with any sort of famous person, just like the ‘el presidente’ tripe.

<ovf censored> me off when they’re cosying up to people like him. He’s a plastic that’s probably not been a single other game this season. Meanwhile the rest of us been treated to a pile of crap all season and treated like mugs.

He is a lifelong fan, but life sometimes gets in the way of being there for every game.

Agree, except I would add Kyle John to our MOM contenders

The game went exactly how I thought (feared) sadly.

great day though I must admit. We got the early train from East Midlands straight into St Pancras and the headed straight east to the blind beggar for a quick pint. Next stop was into Westminster for a look about and a couple of pints then went to the packed pubs of Earl’s Court. Great day before hand and great memories.

then the fun stopped and we had to go to the game 😂

great stadium, fantastic views from the shed upper.

the start was the worst we could’ve possibly had and I’m struggling to defend Gauchi once again for probably 3 goals yesterday. I cannot believe how much space we gave Neto out wide? Was that Gordon’s decision or Brady’s? It was criminal and every time he got the ball he had ten yards of space to go down the line, come inside, run at him - it was crazy. We’ve had an awful season, with no quality in the squad at all and are a league two team, I know we would lose and lose heavy but I really thought we would’ve had a bit more of a go and got a few shots away. We looked scared of them.

one bright spark second had was when George Hall had a run at their defence and got a shot away. I’m struggling to see why Brady can’t find him a place in this absolutely awful side for him. If you’re George hall and can’t get a game in this team you aren’t going want to be here past the summer are you.

oh well let’s hope the money is used wisely in the summer

I still remember it as bad even in today's light of day.
TBH I'm now worrying about the man in charge. Speaks a good game and probably what the fans want to hear but is he the man for us. He keeps talking about building a team that will compete forever but will they. If he believes that what did he say at half time yesterday. At least first half we tried to put pressure on them 2nd half it was nowhere to be seen.
Unfortunately I can't help but think next year he'll lose the dressing room and the players will pack in. My worry is next year we won't have another division to drop into.
It's really hard to be positive with want I've seen this year.

Something else that stuck me what Garrity said post match yesterday “I thought we were brilliant” he must had got a concussion at some point during the game yesterday

Haven’t listened to the full interview but “the Valiant’ newsletter quotes him as saying ‘But I thought we were brilliant the way we worked at times.’

I guess if you only heard the first part you’d get the impression BG was suffering from memory loss for our overall performance but then again I’m also struggling to recall the actual nanoseconds to which Ben was referring.
