Agree with all of that, but for one detail. The ground. Despite notorious big money owners and despite plenty of success in the last 20 years clearly none of that cash has been spent on the ground. I suspect the last major uplift was in the bates era.

Yes, it felt like Hillsborough, a tight, dated ground that was a pain to get in and out of. I was in hospitality and that did look very plush, but it was still extremely cramped, with the only benefit being a padded seat. No way worth the big cash.

The atmosphere was really dissapointing too from their fans, I mean I have heard we bored them to death as the result was a foregone conclusion after 80 seconds but still, it looked like it would generate some serious noise in a competitive fixture..

Now onto the game

Firstly i find it so strange that a group of lads pay all that money just to stare and trade insults with the Chelsea fans ALL game,so much so that one of the group rarely even looked at the pitch.

The team has done really well to get to where we were yesterday but i just wished we had put the same battling performance we did at Man City and the same passion 6,000 fans showed, some players can hold their heads up but others showed what we really lack in the team,we have no dominant CB like Heneghan/Legge etc and that has GOT to be addressed in the summer plus you cant give players like Neto and the other wide player the space we did but like i said we move on and have a mass clear out

Onwards and Upwards hopefully

Yeah that was massively embarrassing. Literally spent the whole game gesticulating at the Chelsea fans and getting angrier and angrier

I was going to have a bid on a couple but I’m currently a bit dubious because, & I know this is a very very long shot, when Vale players were grabbing Chelsea shirts after the game yesterday, how many had to give their shirts to the Chelsea players?

Also, if I was Vale player, would like to keep my shirt that I played in yesterday

Stamford Bridge as a match day experience is pitiful for a PL side. Rotherham has better amenities.

If you want to relive the crowd the full match footage is on iPlayer and it’s fantastic to hear how much we dominated the atmosphere.

We might have sat the bed in the game but the fans did not let the club down.

They are probably first half shirts as well tbf as they would have changed shirts at half time I reckon. The kit man had explained every player had 2 shirts. Though not sure how Ben Amos counts as match worn…

I’ll keep an eye on the auction too, but will see what it looks like in a week. I expect the more prestigious ones to be dominated by collectors.

I think the fees plus vat are outrageous and will put many people off

In the end you could have got a ticket if you had been to 1 home, or away game, this season or last, I think.  Don't know if there was any left after that tbh. People didn't go for a variety of reasons no doubt, but to be fair if any fan wanted a ticket I think they could have got one, not attending was their choice

My nephew has been a couple of games this season due to work(he is looking at a season ticket next season though) and he had 10 points i think,he managed get a ticket last Saturday

I honestly cannot see the appeal for a 7-0 thrashing. I also hope that it isn’t the “once in a lifetime achievement” that many claim. I’d like to think that we can surpass that achievement in the 40-50 years I have left on this earth.  Although agreed it is wonderful we got to the quarters, I can’t say I want to spend more money on a momento of that stuffing.

I enjoyed the experience yesterday, bit of a pain on the coach couldn’t wait to get off and stretch my legs! Nice walk from imperial road to the stadium but once inside very cramped and difficult to move about with so many of us there. Couldn’t even get a pie as sold out!

As for the football, not much to say really for me but you could clearly see the difference in quality of the Chelsea players compared to ours, knew it was going be difficult soon as we went one down.

As for us fans……. Absolutely amazing we didn’t stop singing all game Could hardly here Chelsea at times.

Now back to reality I can’t wait for the clear out to begin and back Brady to see what he can do. See you on Tuesday.

UTV!!
