No way Oxford catch us.

The worry with Oxford is their game in hand and vastly superior goal difference.  They’ve got 2 tough games before 3 that are winnable, although one is Cheltenham who have picked up points and a few good results recently.  The unknown is how FGR will perform after their relegation, maybe they’ll relax now the pressure is off, maybe they’ll field kids, who knows, but they can still have a say in what happens at the bottom along with Accrington, both teams having to play Oxford and Cambridge.

The job to replace this squad is so big we had to start in January. We needed replacement players for Hall and a midfield player. Yes we were unfortunate to lose Jones. I am sure Donnelly was a bench player to cover the odd game.

You are right about performances thro the whole season. I forgot. I was brainwashed by reading ' what is the problem ' " we are 9th in the league "

Forgetting everything else, I assumed the idea was to improve in every window, seeing as how that’s the only time you can properly recruit.  The issue being despite reaching 9th everybody could see the areas where we needed to recruit by the time January arrived, if only to patch a few holes until summer.

I think not simply looking at the table but also some very good performances and results against the bigger teams inevitably clouded our judgement about our ability to compete, but, to repeat the above, we could all see the deficiencies that we hoped would be remedied by end of Jan.  This didn’t happen so injuries, suspensions, and players leaving without better additions arriving, combined with subsequent loss of form and confidence have savaged us.

I went the Camb-Posh game yesterday (complimentary tickets) and Cambridge played from the off with the confidence and quality they only showed once they’d gone in front against us at VP. Posh looked as if they could step it it up at anytime but I felt there was an element of complacency or even arrogance in their attitude and play and they ultimately paid the price, struggling to step it up when they actually had to to get back in the game.  Of all the teams l’ve seen in recent weeks that are below us, Cambridge would be my favourites to get out of it, ironically potentially at the expense of Oxford (I’m still in denial that it could be us!).

Yep, Cambridge certainly have the momentum at the moment, that's why they worry me. I agree, I think they could escape the bottom four and then it will be betwee Oxford, MK and PV for that dreaded 4th slot!

It'll be full of Plymouth. Celebrating on our patch. If we simultaneously go down too there better be plenty of stewards and Police or we'll be getting a massive fine. You can see now the potential powder keg. Don't need to be an expert in football intelligence.

police, stewards-intelligence?  😄

When we are Relegated - How much Cash
will the Vale get as a ' Parachute Payment ' ?

I think it's 40% of the extra 300k the biggest loss is from gate receipts and what funding the academy & foundation get.

interesting!

Saw and heard Fernandes tell the linesman to fook off yesterday - not even a word said to him. So inconsistent the officials, did seem very harsh to have a straight red during a goal celebration. Guess Conlan gains a get out of jail card.
Yeah I saw that aswell. 9nky the other week he shoved the linesman aswell. Can't stand Fernandes hes a petulant spoilt brat

Conlon's red card rescinded

As a friend of mine just text me - You Couldnt Make This Sh!t Up"!

There we go, reading between the line you could tell at the end of the game in DCs interview that they didn’t have a clue what it was for and that they’d appeal it. Trouble is it’s too late now and officials aren’t accountable.

Would like to see the video of the incident that was used as evidence. Assume it would have been one of our media teams cameras. Tom looks to have a bruise on his cheek. I thought he looked guilty at the time but the fact that it has been rescinded would indicate that he shouldn't have been sent off as there must have been sufficient evidence to prove that a red was wrong. Would love to know what the ref thought he had seen.
