These posts are confusing me! And it's not a dig on you ValeForever!!

But the same people having a laugh about Covolan, are saying "trust the process". Wasn't Covolan brought in under that same "the right fit" process? Wasn't it DF and DC the brought him in?

He was, but I'm almost certain he wasn't our first choice last summer. We ended up with him & we knew it was slightly risky, and so it proved.

The process saw fit to move him on quickly, much to some peoples dismay.

Wouldn’t call it dismay. I think a lot found a bit odd that we let our number 2 go without having a replacement lined up. Going into every game with no sub keeper is very risky.

You’re right there is a risk but I think if the management didn’t have a lot of trust in Stone they wouldn’t be doing it. I guess it’s less of a risk for us just having Stone and no sub than Chesterfield having Crazy Cov and no sub. That was just begging to happen there.

So you would have kept him and risked not been able move him on, I wouldn’t

Yes but he didn't even get a yellow at Torquay...

The process was right - he's a good keeper! But he clearly has a problem with his temperament, which wouldn't show in the first assessment as - like you say - he didn't even get a yellow! Last Summer the process got most deals right - not all...they're only human!...in the January window they got even more right We're doing well again, this time. So I don't understand the constant bleating of s small percentage on here who've lost faith in the team that got us promoted?

That’s a good point LT, our approach to recruitment should be judged as a whole… no one gets everything right in player recruitment. Absolutely no one. So why would we hold them to that standard?

As a whole, recruitment was a huge success last year… we got promotion on the back of it.

So everyone is allowed an opinion, but if it’s not that last years recruitment process was a success then I hate to break it to you but it’s wrong 👍

Talking of goalkeepers,John Askey claims that Wrexham have a goalkeeper on £6,000 a week?

I believe DC is quoted as saying the club aim for a 75% success rate
