Honestly sack getting a new goal keeper  Brad Walker could be backup keeper. then up top just put Lewis cass up there he could a job. With this advice we will get promoted in no time

I don't believe that myself. All stands on what is agreed between the clubs in each deal. Happy to be proven wrong though

I mentioned Alex Smithies a week or so ago as a potentially ambitious signing. Although he left Cardiff as he couldn't agree a new deal, he mentioned he wants to move back up North and closer to his Huddersfield home.

Saying that, he ended up on trial at Bournemouth!

But Bournemouth have just signed a new keeper, Neto from Barcelona, and I noticed Smithies got released from his trial too.

Josh Gordon has started the season well with Barrow, wonder if he’d be worth a punt? We’d need to pay a fee but a can’t imagine it would take a lot to prise him away with him being a local lad.

Does Clarke know him from Walsall ?

He played for Walsall from 2018 to 2021 so Clarke must know him. Don’t get me wrong he’s certainly not Championship standard but could do a job and be in our pay range.

In other news, John Clarke, who was Vale's LB in the youth team last year and joined Reading in the summer made his Championship debut yesterday.

Disappointed we couldn't have kept him.
