The point of coaches is to improve players as individuals and as a team, the players are fixed for the time being. So a case of making the best of them, improving our league position,  and deciding who to keep. At the same time planning for next season and beyond.  Of course with our financial history it comes as a shock to be looking to expand, but with local businesses  involved not so risky as previously.

Yes I do , was just concerned how much was being spent in the coaching  department overall relative to our turnover. As someone  said earlier they will need their own coach to travel on.  Also aware that next seasons ticket sales might not be at this seasons level  for a variety of reasons so a few quid tucked away for a rainy day fund might be prudent. Reassured by a post by Jacko earlier in the thread where it was stated clubs got grants for up to £400k for Academy staff. If thats the case happy to fill our boots.

One thing i would be doing right now is trying my best to get Crosby to stay after this season,seems to have made a massive difference since he has come in.... he wants to manage plus Adkins being at Charlton could be a big pull for him but we have to try our best with that one imo

I'm glad you've been a little reassured. I can't see successful businesspeople like the Shanahans having to tuck a few quid away "for a rainy day"? Everything will be properly costed out; if there are grants or other funds available they will be accessed, if possible. If something is of clear benefit, now, for the development of the club in the future, they may even consider it worth bringing some investment forward? Who knows? Pretty sure Carol and Kev will?

Am I reading that right that we have been given £429k of funding from the Premier league to be spent on the academy?
