Who should we sign?

Bury fans on twitter saying Burgess is impressive, a good prospect and they wish he had been given him more of a chance.

Could be an astute signing to free up budget for other players.

IF, and it’s a Big if, the league one striker comes off, then the wages frees up by having Burgess rather than Tongue would have played a part... some (Ernie the moaning warrior) will never see it but it could be a good bit of business.

Unofficial Vale said a L1 striker had been offered to Askey that would please fans...I guessed Lionel Ainsworth and UV liked my post. Sounded only like the player had been offered by an agent, nothing more.

He's from Nottingham originally so its very possible that his agent is offering him to clubs closer to his home, if he wants to move back North from Plymouth, who have just released him.

I did notice on Wiki that he's had more clubs than a deck of cards!

Waste of the budget but pleases the happy clappers on here.Aspin would have been crucified for making these signings.

It’s a new day. A new opportunity to moan.... who will grasp this opportunity?

There is only one man for the job... the relentless moaning warrior of doom!!

Gooooooarn Ern... people probably forgot overnight how much you loath these signings. Tell us again!!

For those less prone to a toddler meltdown, this twitter feed a decent read. Bury fans saying that he is a decent talent who performed well in league 1 and they wish they had given a chance to.

When asked to describe the type of player he is they say “Good in possession, technically sound albeit a bit lightweight maybe but will chip in with goals and assists playing as a 10 or on the wing”

Askey is balancing his budget... Calvert and Tongue out. Burgess in to be a player in and around the bench... more playing minutes brought in and huge saving on wages to replace hannant.

I ran this through Google Translate (language detected: moaning bell) and the result was

At last! I can start moaning again. I never intended buying a season ticket or attending any games and now I have my ready made excuse. Please will someone have sex with me?

When aspin first came in the majority were all positive and excited and willing to give the signings a chance. Aspin got criticised when the football was poor and so were the results.

You may end up being right, but let’s see how the whole squad pans out first.

A reminder that if you don't buy a ST because the club can't afford the players you're demanding due to a lack of ST revenue, you really need to re-evaluate your thought process.

More money in, better players through the door. Our new owners are not going to speculate, ala Bury, in the hope that fans will magically appear, leading to a gamble with our football club.

For every fan who boils the waste products of my bladder, there is another who reinstills my faith in common sense. Well said that man!!

Cheers.

Now we know our money is going back into the club, we have to be an active part in its rebirth, not mere spectators.

We have open owners who want to engage in two-way dialogue with the supporters and the community; we can shape how this club is slowly rebuilt from the precipice we've been teetering over for the last 2 years.

As part of this, we need to help to fund the signings we want to see; gone are the days where our owners will throw money at the latest big name, hoping some mythical fans materialise out of the nooks and crannies of Burslem and Tunstall to cover the deficit. Increased expenditure has to be met with increased income, as the plights of Bury, Bolton, Macclesfield et al are grim reminders of.

I get that people want big-names and a playoff push but its simply not going to happen this coming season. I've always been labelled as a moaner, someone who was never satisfied, and decided to throw myself into the campaign to get rid of Norman. I'm content that good things are happening.
