And what striker would that be? Not many strikers are prolific at every club they play for. Popey has never been prolific anywhere else. It’s not always a case of bringing in 20 goal a season strikers. It’s about adding goals through the team. As I see it we have lost 5 ish goals from all the players we have released and, should we sign cownan, replaced them all with one player that could get that total on his own. Sign a few more like that and our goals for column would look considerably better. Biggest problem last season was that our only really goal threat was pope. Askey knows he needs to address that. To me that’s good bussiness.

Is he a winger or forward? I can’t remember him so can’t really comment on him but look at his record I’m hoping he won’t be playing up top.

 

It’s absolutely pointless worrying a great deal about what players have and haven’t done in the past. It’s what they do when they pull on the hallowed black, white and yellow that matters. As previously stated we’ve signed players who had poor records before joining us and have been a revelation, we’ve signed players who have continued to flop and we’ve sold players who have been a revelation for us who have gone on and done nothing, that is football in it’s beautiful, frustrating entirety. Sit back, relax and enjoy the summer because whoever we bring in, I know I’ll still be there.

Absolutely spot on mate, great post. It’s not about buying individuals, it’s about forming a group who buy into a philosophy, a way of playing, a style that one man believes will be a success and hopefully that is what Askey and Kevan can do.

Do we know why Wycombe have released him, seeing as he played a substantial number of games over the last 2 seasons?

I did wonder if a few posters might disappear and likewise remain once the old dictator regime had left to dish dirt- certainly the fat dictator came on here in addition to a few dodgy posters whom i'm sure he knows wonder if this is one of them.
