On paper Forrester looks a good bet, 10 goals in 40 starts. 3k a week is real world money for a reasonable striker.

Over what period have those 40 starts come though? 3 years? At 3k per week, that is £46,800 per goal gross!

Oh for the days of Guppy tearing a full back apart down the left, and McCarthy doing the same down the right. Would love to see this style of play back at VP, particularly with Popey in the middle.

Looking at Popey’s goals in our L2 promotion season, it stares you in the face how much the two wingers (Vincent and JMW, I think) contributed to his record goal tally. To think we could get back to that would be fantastic. Worral and Montaño on form would go a long way, backed up by Daniels and possibly Benns, who looked a great prospect when he came on for his debut at Cambridge. It’s all to play for.

My own opinion is that Worrall is a tad overated. Yes, he runs a lot and contributes sufficiently defensively, but his crossing much of the time leaves a lot to be desired (noteworthy that he doesn't often take set pieces). If we're trying to feed Pope then, imho, we need a better crosser than Worrall if we're going to play using the wings as they used to be.

Oswell/Smith and Kanu.

Kanu will 100% be one (poor signing)

Why would Kanu be a poor signing?

I don't think I've ever seen him play - but he turned down Man Utd only 2 years ago because he believed first team football was more important longterm than play in the reserves.

An admirable sentiment, but in reality he probably would have been loaned out to the lower leagues anyway. And in the event he ever got released his CV and future prospects would look a lot better going from Man United rather than say a Peterborough.

Reports I have heard is that he is an excellent prospect.

Re Kanu, if he is coming in, and it's a loan deal, then surely Peterborough will be expecting him to play pretty much every game when he's available? Otherwise, what's the point of him coming? Given tne prospects that Peterborough have on their books, and the way they seem to go about their business, then we could possibly be looking at creating a close link with them whilst we're in a lower league, with a view to obtaining first dibs on players that they want to loan out/transfer? Only raising it as, given we already have Pope and Miller, I can't see where Kanu would fit in barring injury to make him a regular?

We already have our two main men in pope and miller I highly doubt we’re going to be paying for another goal scorer now. A young lad with some page of the bench is ideal.

I’ve got no idea how good or poor this lad is but if he’s got pace then that’s a different option if we’re chasing a win.
