Eagles

If his heart was in it he'd have signed weeks ago, got a full pre-season under his belt, got himself match fit and got to know his new team mates properly.

Spot on! Why can't some fans just move on, baffles me, there's obviously reasons we don't know about why eagles hasn't signed . We've lost greater players than eagles and survived

A quick bit of research into the Eagles story shows that when at Bury, manager Gary Flitcroft had him training with youth players as he was not deemed fit enough to train with 1st team. Trials with various clubs came to nothing. But probably most telling point is that his last "decent" contract was a reported £30,000 a week at Bolton. All these factors seem to provide the answers. No commitment and wants too much money. Do we really want a player like that, as good as he is ?

Maybe so. But he is the player that we need. We need someone creative, if we can find someone else then brilliant. Regardless of the situation he would do a job for us in this league.

he's got a week to get fixed up then he's on the dole so it's up to him if he's that flush then it wont bother him but it aint easy living on sweet f a.

He's already on the dole his contract would have run out 4 weeks ago.

Not literally on the dole mind. What with him being so rich that whatever money we could offer him would make sod all difference to his finances.

He hasn't signed for Vale because of ego. I'd say he wouldn't come back cap in hand for that same reason so I say NEXT!

He can afford to sit it out and see what comes up. If you've earned 30 grand a week for a few years buying your family food isn't a big consideration. May be a candidate for a couple of years somewhere like China.

if he can't get another club, as seems likely and he comes back to us, then we should make him a lesser offer, as the one he turned down has gone... what he should remember is he couldn't make the Accys team, and we took a chance with him...

He's still slumming it in Alderley Edge,so I don't suppose he's desperate for a bob or two?

He can afford to wait for a the right offer to come in.

He cannot miss a season and then return to the professional game though. I mean we don't know, maybe he is mulling over a number of offers, bit if he hasn't found a club by January then I'd be surprised to see him rocking up in League One any time soon.

Have we learned nothing from the Mark Marshall debacle then? If he wants to come back we should encourage him.

would you get away with it with your firm?... he was made a fair(?) offer, he can't hang back for a better one and expect to accept yours, if nobody else wants him. Mind you that's how football is nowadays, he'd be using vale as a life raft till he got a better offer, not for me...

This is real life. He is entitled to try to find the best opportunity for himself - as everyone else does in their working life. It is not unusual to have a job offer with prospects of a better offer you want to pursue. The clock ticks on all sides. If he comes to Port Vale he will do his best and that is why Port Vale can leave the offer on the table for now.

Up to Brown, if he thinks he is value for money and will fit into the squad (without upsetting the pay structure) so be it. I would like to think there is a plan B
