Eh up yewth - this is Britain where we have first past the post, so he's elected

We could try the USA way. The one with the most votes loses and the one who gets certain votes wins. That way we end up with Mixu who gave himself a vote.

Who would I choose? That Klopp bloke from Liverpool seems alright!

I agree with the article I read yesterday on here- give it to Brown until the end of the season. We need someone who can work with (put up with) Smurf and he clearly can. He knows the players in our squad and can hopefully get the six or so wins we need to stay in this division. It'll be like a 5 month interview/application process.

Hoping also we have a decent new player signed tomorrow to train with the team and prepare for Saturday. Not holding my breath though!

Agree ,,,It has to Brown for the rest of the season and use what budget we have although i suspect we are shopping in Aldi with a food bank budget-- TO spend on another manager with the costs would bring the player budget down and any manager would not do much with this team as it stands whereby the only hope is we can keep the better players and include forrester foley when fit and even give turner a prolonged run out(like we did jones)all in the hope of avoiding relegation and then the work begins in the summer.

It may have been unforgivable for you but for me and many other Valiants I will remember the way he held the club together through admin and players not getting paid. I will never forget the way he got Vale playing for the first half of that promotion season, JMW and Vincent down the wings, Pope smashing it in from all over. I think I can forgive his honesty about being bored managing Vale after he won us our first promotion for nearly 2 decades.

I am surprised some peoples skin just doesn't wash away in the rain it's so thin. Like a silver rizla wrapped around you.

Completely agree with that, second best manager in my life time of supporting Vale (since 83).

9 games before he resigned he had us finish in our highest position in around the last 12 years, the season before that he won a truly miraculous promotion when he held the club together practically by himself and players really played for him. He transformed a journey man pro in Pope into a goal machine, realised the talent of JMW - another outstanding player in the division during our promotion season. He also negotiated one of the best kit and kit sponsor details the club has ever had, I'm staggered by some of the bitterness shown towards him because he was bullish and irked some people.

Smurf has just said on twitter that he was in contact with Page yesterday. This could obviously be for anything not necessarily the managers job.

Page was always very highly sort after and converted as a coach when he was with us, I think it would be a great move if he could be persuaded to join the coaching team.

Couldn't think of a worse move...

He was Adams right hand man during some good times. I'm not saying I want him in charge, or anywhere near the tactics board, but if we are looking for backroom staff to work with Brown, I would not be adverse to him being involved.

Anyway, after his treatment in the summer and Smurfs obvious distain for him, I doubt it would ever happen.

They were probably discussing renewing Hooper's loan.
