As lots of managers names are getting banded around with the vale managers job at the moment, if you could have any of the ones who are currently on the bookies list who would it be?

From the list I be happy with any of Steve Cotterill, Nigel Adkins, Kenny Jackett or Billy Davies.

All have good experience and have previously managed at our level or above.

Hopefully Smurf may see the poll and take note instead of blindly appointing another disaster!

It makes me smile a bit, no ex-players. Who has our current manager Brown been playing for the last few years?

The fact that he's been playing for port vale for the last few years would indicate he's not an EX player.

Yes to Adkins, Jackett, Cotterill,

Keith Hill / John Coleman / Gareth Ainsworth I could understand and would pleased with but doubt we'd pay compo for them,

Billy Davies or Chris Powell would be okay with,

Brown I liked as a player but not sure he is what we need right now but would be happy to be proved wrong, personally feel we need an old head to put this mess right,

Hasselbaink I'm unsure on, he would lift the clubs profile and have good contacts and did well at Burton carrying on Rowett's good work but would he be off at the first chance if he's doing well.

Mixu,Saunders,Dickov,Ronnie Moore,Steve Davis would be a definite no for me.

I'm expecting Brown to get it though or alternatively it will be a complete letdown or unknown quantity.

I agree with every word of that, though I would also add Brian McDermott to the Yes list.

Cotterill is my preferred choice.
