I don't know how to feel about this.

 

On one hand Page seems a nice bloke, very professional and I suppose anyone would deserve more than just 8 games in the job when stuck with the same under-performing players.

 

On the other hand, we're still leaking goals, personnel has only been changed when forced, were utter ***** away from home still and in the last 2 home games we've mustered 45 mins that resembled any sort of performance.....and even then it was against 10 men who eventually tired.

 

One thing I am feeling certain about is a struggle - but then that could've happened with anyone in charge. We'll be in and out of the bottom 4 all season.

I think this is a good appointment. He has good playing experience and has served time as a coach. It is a less risky appointment than an outsider. He comes over as sensible in the media and has a sensible slight bias towards attacking philosophy.

At least that gives a level of stability again at least for the short term. Hopefully success over the coming months will lead to a longer contract. Good luck Rob. Let's all get behind him and the team!

I was hoping he wouldn't get the job, yes we've improved but not enough in my eyes. I'm glad he's only got the job till the end of the season.

 

If he was assistant manager anywhere else I'm sure a lot more would be saying "Great appointment, an up and coming ambitious manager"

A bad move. Cheap and easy. You can dress up the current form table as much as you like, we are 4 points from being rock bottom. In a few weeks time, lets see how the easily pleased react when we're back in the bottom 4. It'll be Page out! That's how fickle most people are.

 

And before the whingers complain about myself and others having a contrary opinion to theirs, I want the best for my football club, but Page and Grew are not the answer to our problems.

Genuine question for those unhappy with Page - who's the stand out candidate to replace him? He done well - not great, but good enough to be given a chance

The new manager can prove the doubters to be wrong by choosing the same second half team selection against L.Orient to start at Colchester, which would stand a good chance of winning.

 

That is going to be a real test for RP. Last season Micky got it completely wrong from the off and we produced one of the worst performances of the season. Let's hope for something completely different this time around.

Imho. Same **** different wrapping. Too much time spent with the prehistoric idiot we had previous.
