Football hey! We lose a game after 2 months & 10 days & here come the usual suspects who are nowhere be seen on a fantastic run of form! Only 3 teams have scored more goals than us yet we’re too defensive, moaning about how many away wins on the bounce were 1-0, demanding a refund & saying they’d prefer a cup run that we’d never lift the trophy over topping the league. Absolute madness & embarrassing. Give your head a wobble ffs yes we were poor today but every team has these days over a season & plenty of them. Enjoy the ride because if you can’t enjoy being top then what’s the point. Cheer up you miserable sods

We had 30 points 2 weeks ago 2 weeks on 2 defeats even the most optimistic fan can see that's a cause for concern .

If not maybe you fan who  enjoys losing .

We still top so im happy about thst what i aint happy about is thst today we played for a 0-0 against a team we cut open quite easily twice in first half when we could be bothered go forwards .

One Sang played it the wrong way as Curtis had of being through on goal if he played it the right away and the penalty shout when Curtis is brought down but ref decided it's all about him .

Other than that most fans are happy we top of the league 

In future let's play like a top of the league team.

Looked like their attacker headed onto Jesse's shoulder, think that's why Ripley was nowhere near it.

Bad day at the office. We earned the right to lose a game and still be top of the league. Our next unbeaten run starts at Morecambe. 🥳

As I was working all day I didn't get the result until turned 5 o clock. As many have said a defeat was going to come along at some point, problem today apparently and very predictably the result was not as bad as the performance, which sounded absolutely abysmal. Even the gaffer sounds like he reverted to his shambolic team selection and tactics of last season. I have been to Gillingham quite a few times over the years and off the top of my head I cannot remember us winning any of them. I honestly don't know what happens to produce such a **as poor all round performance, did the coach run over a black cat on the way to the match?

I am particularly surprised and disappointed at what I am reading about big Jesse, he has been my player of the season up to now so what the heck could have happened to make him regress like that?

I don't think today should just be written off and move on. Lessons have to be learned to prevent a similar disaster happening again.

I was sitting in the main stand with the home fans. At half time neither side had a shot on target or a corner. It was woeful to watch. All around me were in shock when neither the  liner or ref gave a pen for the keeper wiping out Curtis. It was clear as day. The guy in front said “That was an absolute stone waller.”  Also in the build up to their goal there was a clear push in the back on Grant which was ignored by a liner two yards away. Neither of those would have mattered if Stockley hadn’t contrived to miss an open goal from about 6 yards.

A bad day at the office. 

Watched the game at home,we gave as good as we got in a scrappy game,in no way were we second best it had 0-0 written all over it.The ref cost us today when he failed to give us a free kick before the throw that led to their goal,he penalised and booked us and let their infringements go,i'm sure we should have had a penalty and if Stockley puts that one away in his 500th appearance we win the game.I have no doubt we'll bounce back they played us at the right time with our depleted midfield.

He was looking for it which didn’t help his cause whether there was contact or not. The most frustrating thing for me was he didn’t need to take it round the keeper. Just hit it 😂

Dunno why Tolaj is on the bench, a complete waste of wages, he needs to start every game. The rotational thing......is it working or have we been lucky? I would rather a settled team with Garrity attacking too.

Poor result and effort. I don't think we are good enough to stay top. Early days, hope I am wrong.

People suggesting that's not a pen are absolutely deluded. You have lost all sense if you do not see that as a stone wall penalty.

Was at the game today as a Vale family down south!

Everything has been said thus far on the thread and I feel it was just a bad day at the office so let's move on!

I want to highlight the extremely over zealous searching prior to entry.

We arrived very early to meet my brother and family as we needed to locate our tickets sent down on the bus.

We stood and chatted to the stewards whilst waiting for the tickets to be delivered to the away end having good banter and friendly chats with other Vale die hards.

Stuck down a dirty cul-de-sac in a <ovf censored> house arse end of Gillingham that made Burslem look like Barbados we were then subjected to the most ridiculous search and pat down/assault I've ever known!

We were 6 people, 4 adults with 2 girls under 10.
My missus was made to empty her purse, got aggressively patted down and just made to feel uncomfortable.

The guy that searched me was far too aggressive also. Literally grabbed the meat and two veg!!!!

Shocking way to be treated bearing in mind we had stood there since probably 1.15pm and chatted endlessly with these guys in a more than friendly way! Rant over.

As for the absolute tool Vale fan at the end shouting in Ripleys face calling him a <ovf censored> when he only came over to applaud the fans for travelling down. Ripley did well not to land one on him!
