It's funny because if Stockley scores his tap-in, we probably see out another 1-0 win and everyone is chuffed that we're solid and keeping the margins low and winning whilst not playing particularly well.

He didn't miss because Moore's subs were poor, or the players weren't bothered and should be dipping into their pockets for the travelling fans, or because Debrah had a night

The performance would have been the exact same but the tone would have been the polar opposite. Folk need a beer, let the emotional frustration of the loss dissipate, and take stock of how good of a position we're in. It's genuinely brilliant.

Surely if top your level of performances should be getting better and better weekly

These last 2 Saturdays have being for me poor .

Winning mentality has turned to losing one again

Can some of the players cope with what's expected of them as today there were too many 4 out of 10s .

We top I expect standards be 8 out 10 from every player

It's just massive outcome bias. They worked as hard as they usually do, but lost. Stockley scores his tap-in and there's no comment on effort.

I would love to see the running stats from both teams and the sprints during the game. On the eye one team did it more than the other.

Yes we should be exponentially be getting better forever and winning every game, and not accepting we've been on a run better than any other side in the country and be appreciative of the players' efforts without turning on them and asking for £25 when they have an off day.

Frustrating loss, Vale on the wrong end of two crucial ref decisions and in Stockley's miss had the best chance of the game.

Just looked a very physical game played at 100 mph, as the commentators said it was the type of game where someone needed to put a foot on the ball and slow it down.

Phlegmatic about the loss, it was gonna happen sometime.

Don't think if we had scored it would have been a 1-0 win.  Still think they would have scored.  Their league position is misleading and their squad is tipped to be around the playoffs.

Today the Gills management did their homework and their players stuck to their game plan.  Ref made some strange decisions and favoured Gills more.

Strange subs by DM, but he must have had his reasons.

Write this game off and reset to winning ways.

Rock on to the next league game to see how the players and staff react to this loss.

Yep! It had to happen at some point. Let’s nail Morecambe but, that is a tough game too. We are top of the league remember

I thought from quite early on that the game had 1-0 written all over it. I just didn't know which way.

Live by the 1-0 away result, die by the 1-0 away result.

By the year 3000 we should be winning games by ∞ to 0

I haven't paid go that far and I agree you cannot ask for money back .

Get Garrity and Byers back as soon as possible .

Just goes show how important B Garrity is since limping off v Wimbledon we have scored 1 and conceded 5 .

If we had taken the lead, could see them scoring due to the mistakes being made by our players.

DM has a defensive mind-set, that has always been his way and with solid defensive action it works but days like today when at least one pin at the back fail and those Infront are ineffective you get away with a dour draw or a poor defeat. Sometimes we just have to grab the ball and game by the throat from start with attack minded instruction. We go on of course and we will see this through to div one but not sure we will give anyone a hiding this year. I wonder what Paton and Tol are thinking when DM favours others Infront of them to change game

I just don’t get how you give it Billy Big Balls and yet privately cry your eyes out because Valliaant was picking on you.

I will make you look stupid and then some so pipe down a bit.

Give it a <ovf censored> rest

Which is kind of the point I’m making. The issue is, we’ve created what, one chance, in 90+ mins. So you need a 100% conversion rate, otherwise you’re a ‘nil’ and always likely to be at the mercy of a poor decision or lapse in concentration, and it sounds like we had both.

Versus Harrogate, for all the territory we didn’t really work their goalie and scored off a set play. And I think that why people will be moaning tonight. Scrape a 1-0 win and Moore has delivered a tactical masterclass. Instead we miss, switch off, and it’s a 1-0 defeat, and the narrative becomes we’ve played rubbish and not created anything.

I felt the subs were wrong today, but arguably I thought the same vs MK Dons and Accie. And we all know what players like Williams and Nolan can do.

That "one" team presumably mean Gillingham?
