Official: 2023/24 Retained List

Recommended Posts

We might have to write off next season, and hopefully we'll finish mid-table before releasing these dossers.

Hoping some of the maligned players might get a new lease of life. Try Sang and Grant in their natural positions of CM for example.

Still need around 6 FIRST TEAM signings. And if the budget won't stretch, then Carol has to fund this to correct her mistakes.

The thing surprised me most about Wynne.

Is not that he's in talks. But why on earth didn't he start on Saturday bearing this in mind ?

Picked up an injury during training otherwise would have played from what Moore told Baggers in The Valiant at the weekend. Ticks all our boxes then.

Ahh cheers . Thought it odd.

How many of ours get injured in training or during the warm up. Mental .

That’s a Vale signing if I’ve ever heard one!

I knew virtually most under contract but thoroughly depressing when you see that list in writing.  For me other than Chislett, Garrity, Ripley, Plant and Dippepa, I would be making it clearly known that everyone is available on a free, even then we will struggle for any takers.  After Saturday we should not be looking at Uche, he would not get goals in the National League South never mind League 2, failure to score from 4 yards out said it all, when he shoots it is like a 10 year old playing football for the first time.  If we sign him up, along with Loft and Dippepa already there, only room for one more striker to be signed up.

Uche Mk II is one of the strangest footballers I’ve ever seen. Too slow and no stamina for the amount of running required for a centre forward. Disproportionate amount of upper body strength, shields the ball well but wins very few headers. Can’t hit a barn door and his all round play isn’t good enough to overlook that.

He's been the second most disastrous centre forward signing we’ve made this season.

I’m not falling into the trap of thinking some of our players might be better next year simply because they’re in a lower league. Sitters like the one on Saturday don’t get any easier in League Two.

From what I've seen he's one of many who should be gone by hook or by crook. Failure to do so may push us towards the League 2 trap door. I cannot for one minute understand the thought process in offering him a deal. You could not make it up. I do hope somebody raises concerns at the forum on Thurs regarding the first team squad.

Clearly I am out of step with most on here but I find Uche marvellously entertaining. I would love to see him rampaging through League 2 (as long as we have someone else to actually score some goals).

Have to admit I agree with this, however I’ve still not recovered from him missing that free header from 6 yards out on Saturday.  We need players who will regularly hit the back of the net when they’re presented with such clear cut chances.
