I just want the team to play as a tight unit and get it forward quicker as with Blackpool.

Charlton have far better quality up front than us, so if we try and sit back then we will get beat.

Garrity would possibly be the other ok in that with Debrah looking the worst out of the two so may be a case we see Garrity and Devine which would be massive for us.

Though he specifically mentioned midfield to cover for injuries and didn’t mention defence, where we’d be equally light if Cass and Balmer were to leave and Dan Jones and/or Debs were long term injuries.  I’d agree about BG and Devine being available is really important to our prospects but I’m worried now (since only midfield was mentioned in context of injury cover), perhaps unnecessarily, that one of these two may be missing for a number of weeks beyond the transfer window too. Time for our DoF and the recruitment team to earn their corn.

Alfie May possibly a doubt (and being played out of position on the wing when he does play apparently ) and Blackett-Taylor’s had his head turned/performances affected negatively by transfer talk according to one of the guys off their podcast.  They’re on a bad run (for them), away form like Blackpool’s and want their manager gone - it’ll be a 3 point banker for them then🥴

Assumed he meant because Arblaster is gone, Ojo out until February, Conlon looking like going  and Walters not performing and maybe going do would need cover regardless.

It's not really harsh as carlise have already made 3 signings. We know we're short of bodies and quite a number of them are out for at least a month some longer than that, so could have brought somebody in instead of basically playing 16 and 17 year olds.

Agreed and also press, press, press, give their players as little time on the ball as possible.

To my eyes Vale seem to have made a discernible effort to get the ball forward much quicker in recent matches, if only just to go long to Uche/Loft.

vale need a good January so a good result tomorrow.
