I see Baggers' reports appearing on the Birmingham Live website now. It doesn't look like the Sentinel are rushing to replace with a like-for-like replacement. Since Mike left, we've got nowt on the Sentinel website about the departure of James Wilson and that happened yesterday. I hope Baggers' departure doesn't mean the Vale news is covered by cub reporters as and when they get the time. If so, the Vale news coverage is going to take a real dip for the worse...

In the last couple of years Mike had to cover Crewe and Chester as well as Vale because Reach made their reporters redundant. It now looks like they’ve done the same with his position at the sentinel as well.

It wouldn’t surprise me if we get one reporter spread across a number of different clubs.

if anyone has picked up a print version of a Sentinel recently they’ll know how sad it has become. Online it’s a ratio of about 10% news to 90% clickbait or adverts masquerading as news.

Not checked but is it possible to submit a news story via the Sentinel, or parent company, website?  If so perhaps the media team should look into it.  If not, as you say Vale news will be in very short supply.

Is it a case of the Sentinel becoming less important? As fewer people read it and it's circulation declines so it becomes irrelevant.

Yep, I would imagine that is the case. There's no update since Friday so they've not covered Wilson leaving or the POTY award. It's going to be a real drop in coverage if it's only updated once a week or so by someone who has a list of newspaper websites to file copy for.

Probably need to rely more on the clubs own media sorces from the time being. Sounds like the sentinel are neglecting Vale again atm.

I know the piss gets taken out if them but Radio Stoke have featured more Vale news of late. They've done the interview with Carol after Clarke went, they did Crosby's interview the other week - The Sentinel lifted most of that themselves.

Hasn't been a single bit of Vale news since Crosby appointment. Nothing about Wilson.  As you'd expect lots of Lard news .

Looks like they simply haven't got anyone in to do the Baggers role. As other have said he was covering Vale, Crewe and Chester. None of those teams have had any updates since Baggers' last story - that's despite James Wilson leaving Vale, Crewe announcing their retained list and Chester releasing a statement on crowd disorder at their play-off final. Not a word on any of those stories!

Rumour has it , he will not be replaced .
