In the end I just wanted to congratulate those superb followers /supporters of Plymouth some have been on the road since 3a.m well done to them that's who I was applauding as left the ground there fans and ours for the reaction towards them at end of game .
Didn't stick around for lap of appreciation as son wanted go shopping at Lidl near dimensions
Another dark day for the football club we just do not seem have players who want to win .
It's all too pretty and really yet again the opposition have scored with virtually every attempt on target .
The whole point of being a defender is too do the basics.
Block ,head and fight I see nothing in our defence what does that grappling with players isn't showing fight before someone's pipes up with Smith I'd prefer him be blocking shots and leading like a man at the back .
Back to the game quite enjoyed some aspects of our play .
Pett and Proctor and Worrall gone we thank them all always be welcome back at the Vale bless you lads .
Case made for any others be given a contract .
Debatable we move on .
Always gets me theres always a lot more volume at end of a game and before wheres that during the game after the goal went in went quiet that needs to change if too move forwards mind you would help if players maintained performance levels there either not fit enough or good enough.
I'd say a mixture of both .
We says thanks and move majority ON including AC who has worked with
DC through all these games where players have not shown anywhere near enough to be part of PVFC moving forwards.
So for that there's the door if it's good enough for DC be put through it its good enough for you too AC

What a thoroughly depressing post, I really don’t get all the negativity. Had someone had said to me 12 months ago we’d have got in the playoffs, won the semi then the final at Wembley and secured our place in L1, I’d have been over the moon as would most fans.
Unfortunately we are not blessed with multi millionaire owners so what we need is steady progress which could take years to achieve. The problem is some fans what instant success but this can often be a flash in the pan. I’m here for the long term. UTV.

I agree, when put in those terms it sounds very positive.  At the turn of the year things were much more positive, but the form in the 2nd half of the year has taken the shine off things and allowed negativity to creep in.  I think the loss of DC is somewhat emotional for many, again taking the shine off what we have achieved.

If we continue on the trajectory since Jan then we will very likely be relegated next year.  The positivity emanating from the club seems to have diminished and there is a growing sense of uncertainty.  The squad we have is clearly not good enough, we have no leader, and there are rumors of budget reductions.

I will hold off on judgement until we are back in pre-season, but I can understand fans being concerned.

I'm not. I suggest you read my posts. I'd like to think I'm quite balanced.

I'm deeply disturbed why we've hung Clarke out to dry. The best manager in a decade . Yet now appear close to appointing his sidekick who was by his side throughout.

I don't like what's gone on recently. Speed, Brown, Garlicky and Clarke.

Doesn't mean I don't think Carol is a fantastic owner. I just don't like what I'm seeing and the lack of transparency.

Clarke was not hung out to dry, he’d given up weeks before for whatever reason. Carol was very patient, not many managers would have lasted that long before having the boot. Probably the best manager we’ve had in a decade but in all honesty there wasn’t a hell of a lot to go against, we may well end up with a far better manager next season, after all, we are now looking for a division 1 manager.

Who set up their first goal with their sublime pass ? Looked like Donnelly?

The third was down to Benning. Put it on a plate for Azaz with an inch perfect lay off .

We led to our own downfall.

The objective has been achieved but if 3 points from 12 against a team who couldn't give a toss is a benchmark then we are in massive trouble come August.

You can't give Benning stick for tackling and winning the ball from an attacker breaking away!

Yes - and good to see other club's fans think more of us than some of our lot do!

Yes I was thinking of ripping up my season ticket receipt until I nipped over to the Plymouth forum... buzzing now for next season...

Have to say that despite the result I really enjoyed the game today.  Shame we couldn’t keep it at 1-1 for a bit longer, but we kept plugging away.  Plymouth, as so many other teams this season, didn’t have to work very hard for their 3 goals, we really need to cut out the unforced errors next season.  The only sour note was watching Azaz produce a dive Tom Daly would’ve been proud of and then try to argue the toss with the ref.  He was possibly lucky not to receive a second yellow later on.

Interesting that despite all the recent panic from fans, even if we lost our final 5 games of the season, we’d have still stayed up - just shows how well we did in the first half of the season.
In fact DC secured enough points for us to stay in L1 before he was dismissed.

Factually correct you are yes.

I'm afraid other than that absolute blip we have been anything other than ' hard to beat ' .

Appoint Crosby and I'll get my map out to Harrogate again.

Yes I think Harrogate have chance of getting promoted next season too.

Vale never said they were championship ready- they said they wanted to make the club championship ready.

Correct - but some fans have twisted that to support their digs at...well...any number of targets!

10 years ago, Plymouth escaped dropping out of L2 on the last day of the season by another team losing. After 4 seasons in L1 are promoted. Good read on BBC Sport, running a club not the Football Way.
