Player of the Year 2022/23

Gone are the days when I used to stick a pencil in my back pocket on the penultimate home game of the season to scribble down my player of the year on a piece of paper and throw it in a bucket, but does anybody know if the voting has started for this season?

I would have gone for Garrity (not a coincidence that during his 8 week layoff we have been pants) but I would expect Madeley's finest to pick up the top prize.

Think it has to be Smith, maybe Harrison. Garrity and Jones would be in with a shout for me but both had slow starts to the season and missed good chunks through injury.

For me the only contenders would be Smith or Worrall for effort and consistency in performances this season, think Smith probably just takes it for me

Smith, it’s a no brainer.  Maybe a bit of humble pie being eaten around the Potts, many on here said he wasn’t good enough last season.  Anyone watching the game yesterday will know what’s he brings to the team, their striker Coburn will certainly know.

Really sums up our season when the consensus of opinion by a country mile is just two players, Smith & Worrall (it’s a good job his name is not Dave Weston). With the exception of last season it would have been the same two names for the past few seasons. We need to recruit better, as these two stalwarts have been at the club when many others have come and gone.
