I guess you could say this adds weight to the poor recruitment argument again though when our longest serving players brought in by previous management are considered our best performers and also have a better fitness record than most players that were signed up by our current recruitment setup

Harrison all day long for me. Garrity maybe for unappreciated team player effort. Smith came into his own in the new  year but was average in comparison to others when we were good. Worrall might have a case but Harrison has been outstanding in both boxes for me.

For me:

1st Smith

2nd Smith

3rd Smith

His sheer consistency alongside his undoubted commitment to the cause and availability leaves him unchallenged.

Wozza, Harrison, Garrity, Jones and Pett the best of the rest and can be pleased with their efforts this season.

Gone are the days when I used to stick a pencil in my back pocket on the penultimate home game of the season to scribble down my player of the year on a piece of paper and throw it in a bucket, but does anybody know if the voting has started for this season?

I would have gone for Garrity (not a coincidence that during his 8 week layoff we have been pants) but I would expect Madeley's finest to pick up the top prize.

Smith followed by Worrall?

smith is no where near . hes been pants since january (ok they all have) but he wasnt much better previously he had his best game at ipswich and that was probably only 1 of 3 hes had all year. between worrall and harrison for me. both consistent hard working players. pity the rest didnt show that during our rough spell.

Has the director of voting been fired?

Got to be Smith for me.

Not really, Smith will only win because Harrison, Garrity, Jones and Ojo have had long injuries, but playing every game is a talent in itself

Woz by a mile for me. Consistent performances week in, week out, and the necessary League 1 quality, work rate, vision, plenty of assists, despite being played out of position for much of the season, as well as a few goals. Fantastic in the air for a smaller player.

Then Smith 2nd and Harrison 3rd.
