  1. Amazing how differently we all view things. Thought him a garrity were part of the problem tonight. Never at it at all I’m my eyes. Players ghosted past Conlon all night and his passing was woeful at times. No where near it other than a sublime free kick.
  2. Auwful, awful performance that. Carried on what we were doing Saturday in the first half. Slow and laboured. Turning over possession constantly. Still a point away when you are as bad as we have been tonight is not to be sniffed at.
  3. Shouldn’t lose that really but we are still in transition. Can’t win them all. Strange subs for me but they have worked over the last few weeks. Refocus, feet back on the ground and start another run.
  4. Agree. Yep f he can add a bit more tenacity/physicality he will be like a new signing
  5. Spot on mate. Take a bit to shift them at the minute. I think had smith played centre against Rochdale then we deal with their lad better. Not saying we would have got anything because we were pretty bad after the first 20 mins but we would definitely have dealt with him better.
  6. Personally think we never dealt with their tall striker that day. Martin had a mare against him. Just couldn’t cope with him at all.
  7. To the racists - you have no place at Port Vale and no place in society. To the Leyton keeper you were a massive jerk after your second but added to an entreating game. We all stand with you against racism. Leyton are a horrible side but play to their strengths and won’t lose many. They are very well equipped to get out of this division. Great day marred by a brainless moron.
  8. So far so good. Seems to be an improvement each week which is a good sign. Still a lot of hard work to do but we are extremely hard to beat and that gives you a chance in every game.
  9. Was very poor after the first 15 minutes. Game should have been wrapped up. Never seen a team go from 100 to 0 so quick. It’s quite worrying tbh. Conlon shouldn’t have come back in for Walker. No two ways manager cost us today and I quite like him. Needed to bring a centre half in to cover legge and we didn’t/haven’t. Martin will never be the answer. Hope he can improve but he was as strong as steam!
  10. Problem still remains though. Should have just put his foot through it then there is no debate.
  11. Don’t listen to the commentary a great deal because I manage to get to games. It’s not the best but just be grateful we even get coverage tbf some areas we’d just end up with updates during other games
  12. Cracking post and fully agree. But I also think at the same time given the money that has been spent there needs to be positive signs on the pitch to give people hope. Last season was a an absolute car crash for everyone involved. Hopefully lessons have been learned and the good times are on there way back. But ultimately we are there to watch( hopefully!! 🙏🙏) the product on the pitch. I feel we are in a far better position than we were but ultimately know one really knows until a competitive ball is kicked. Carol and Kevin deserve some luck. They haven’t had any since taking over but have faced everything head on and are such a credit to port vale. We are very lucky to have them as owners.
  13. I’m not so sure on Taylor. Average at best with a few glimpses of potential since he resigned. Was good on loan but that’s gone now. He struggled fo get in a poor vale team last season jury is our for him this season. Needs a huge improvement else he could get left behind.
  14. Means nothing. Would happily lose all friendlys. Not sure why people get wrapped up in them so much.
  15. I think if anything this squad is going to be highly competitive. All of them will need to be on top form else they will be out. Can only be a good thing.
  16. Or he has told them he’s not signing already... as you say this is the sort of player we need to pick up. Still a chancer but has a bit of consistency about performances which is often missing in lower league football.
  17. I think your safe matey but would be a laugh for a good cause
  18. Don’t know you but as a fellow vale fan do it for charity and I’ll happily donate. Plus I’ll bring my own custard pie 😂
  19. Personally I’d argue that we weren’t really much cop early on. The signs were certainly there early on with the defensive frailties.
  20. It is a dreadful finish but... we have been excellent for the last month or so but this for me is a huge reminder that a lot of these players ain’t good enough. No sentiment shown to any of these players at all and this performance today should ensure it doesn’t happen. Good luck to all those that will be leaving. No hard feelings as such just football and you haven’t been good enough collectively or individually.
  21. Can’t say I will be disappointed and if we get 10k for him then we have done ok. May be a good player but sadly never on the pitch enough. If true wish him all the best for the future except for against us if they get promoted!
  22. I think he is a bit of a Bennett type player. In terms that he keeps knocking about club to club but never really achieving potential. This season has been one of his better ones but the lad is 27 and hasn’t really pulled up any trees. Watched the Morecambe and Southend game and their commentators kept saying “looks like he has his head on tonight” which would suggest he blows hot and cold.
  23. 6 games is admirable. And while I am grateful for the players efforts over the last few month to get us out of a mess we must be ruthless. Sentiment is not afforded in football any more.
  24. Certainly has. Also played 3 different positions now for the cause. If we had 11 smiths we wouldn’t have an issue. Was well below par for first part of the season but who wasn’t. Never one to shy away. 100% with him every game. Sad that he has been singled out by some for stick but the game is about opinions and everyone has the right to one I guess.
