I heard from a "sauce" that if you get there @ 1.55pm, that you can sign as a free agent and play. Training is an optional extra. You may need to pre book a Physio session.

I think this will be a tough game. Physical opponents who I think will be targeting players  like Cass in defence ( if fit and playing).  We need to be up for the battle today.

Try to live my life (or are least when following the Vale) by having low or no expectations and must say the last season and a half has rarely, if ever, disappointed.

Hopefully a few goals for us today. Looking forward to seeing Matty Taylor play up front. With Wozzers quality deliveries, hopefully he'll get some chances to put away!

Just been up to collect my Shrewsbury tickets. Taylor was in the club shop. He's had a shave too !

When Sproey played for us, before he moved to Brum. He turned up to meet me in an old Ford Escort, bad leg, could not use the clutch, so ground it. Oh the days of  our ex players. Or a Billy car 🙂

True though Darren, when we signed Ainsworth, he got a Sierra and a house in Westbury Park, next door to me. Van der Laan was in the posh bit of Westbury Park 🙂.

Hope those who are expecting to see Matty Taylor today are not too disappointed if he doesn't play. Ironically, Gareth Ainsworth, who of course will be there today, didn't play in our first game after he signed in 1997. I remember it well because it was one of the few games I got to see that season while living and working a long way from Vale. It was at Norwich, which we lost 1-0, and I couldn't understand why Rudgie didn't bring him on. So disappointing - but the rest is history as he turned in one great perfomance after another.

PS For one reason or another, I never did see get to see Gareth turn out for the Vale - I won't be making that mistake again with Taylor!

My lad was in same nursery as Jack VDL  so used to bump into Robin  at the school gates . Think he built a granny flat and his mum came over from Holland to live Westbury/ Seabridge area ?

Must admit I was optimistic about the chance/ possibility that we might actually have two strikers up front today! 
 

I may have to be a little more patient??? 
 

Once our 'now 4' strikers are available we should be able to push on this half of the season!!

 

An hour 'til the team is announced - you never know!!
