FA Cup First Round

I've forgotten the website I was reading all about this on. Aspects of the report were that Port Vale immediately admitted liability but had taken many additional security measures that didn't work. These were mitigations and hence the fine was limited to £15k.

McKirdy was punched by fans and sheltered under a teammate to leave the pitch. Swindon fans, kept behind in their stand were hit by missiles including a bin and bottles.

My experience of this game was finding a Swindon fan on the ground near the team bus. My son attended him as a Dr because he had been beaten round the head and needed an ambulance. We were about 10 minutes late into the ground.

There are absolutely no positives to be taken about Port Vale fans from this game. And it all just needs to be left in the past.

The FA report did not say that McKirdy had been punched and was one of the most one sided investigations they have probably ever produced.  There was no mention of the behaviour of the Swindon fans who were tearing up seats and throwing them at Vale fans.  There was no mention of the hugely provocative behaviour of the likes of McKirdy and the club captain and manager during the first leg and prior to the second leg.  There was no mention of the attack on a Vale fan by one of the Swindon staff in the dugout.  And the only evidence we have ever seen of the appalling attacks on their players was a one inch cut on Egbo's nose - and it's interesting to consider when that actually happened?  Were any  of the Swindon team and staff actually interviewed during the police investigation because I've seen no mention of it in in their reports of the game, just lots of photos of Vale fans they wanted to speak to.  One Swindon fan reckoned they had a bin thrown at them.  This is common practice among Swindon fans who have been filmed chucking bins at stewards in Stevenage.    Why did the ref ignore the police instruction to hold the shoot out at the Hamil End where the fans would have been much easier to control.

Some of our fans behaved disgracefully but to suggest that there were not faults on both sides is a traversty.

Fair enough but the powers that be would look at who’s fans were on the pitch and the reasons for that.  The rest of the events were just a byproduct.  No fans on the pitch then the other events never happen.

In my view with a bit of common sense and organisation we could’ve been on the pitch but the players better protected and escorted off plus home fans prevented from getting too close to the Bycars.  It would’ve involved better stewarding and policing than we saw on the night and I guess the club can’t actually plan it like that as it’s illegal for fans to enter the field of play full stop.

Vale had done a tremendous amount of planning for that game as the report acknowledged. It was only Vale fans on the pitch because we had ensured their fans couldn’t get on by netting off all the front rows of the Bycars and making it impossible for them to encroach. Had we not done that it would have been mayhem. Some of our fans disgraced the club that night, that can’t be denied, but the report makes Swindon sound like angels and they were far from that - neither their fans or their players.

Not sure where you got old firm cakewalk from lol. Showing your knowledge well as usual. The same Hibs that are 3rd in the league?  Hibs have lost 3-0 once to Rangers in the last 7 years and about the same with Celtic. They play at Celtic today while we are at home to FGR.
They let Celtic boot it in their net 6 times today. Dossers.

Also many games of 5 to 6 000.  Those crowds you quote,  Celtic near to 60000,  rangers no.  So 60 k ish,  what once a year?  I know he's your mate but at least quote facts. Hes an obnoxious get, if you don't know him. Hate him

Dress it up however you like, we shouldn’t be on the pitch, simple as that.  I think you’ll find it was mayhem, the sheer numbers on the pitch, players being assaulted and home fans confronting opposing fans, hence the hearing and fine.

No.  We’re you on the pitch?

No I wasn’t.But why is this so one sided by the FA.Why no mention of the actions of McKirdy & Williams in the Swindon v Vale game where they were both blatantly diving, cheating. Why have the FA not taken action against McKirdy for his comments on social media(like they did with Tom Pope)Why no mention about the damage to 40+ seats by the Swindon fans. Many of them thrown onto the pitch? What about the Swindon fans on the pitch at Vale park as seen in the photos?

Why can’t you grasp that in the scheme of things the incidents you mention pale into insignificance when compared to thousands of fans running onto the pitch in the direction of the away fans and players and the potential for disorder?  That’s what the authorities will see.  They’ll also see similar things at other grounds which will no doubt have made their bums twitch.

A few tweets isn’t an excuse to confront opposing players and I’d suggest nobody would’ve been throwing seats onto the pitch if there were no fans on there.

For fans on the night running onto the pitch would’ve been a spontaneous outpouring of joy but unfortunately the club and police didn’t have the staff in place to ensure the safety of the players and to prevent confrontation at the away end.  We should, and the club has, just hold our hands up instead of trying to deflect from that fact, which is what you are trying to do.

FYI I’m not making excuses for what happened. Why can’t you grasp that this report is very one sided. No mitigation seems to have been taken into account either. Why the double standards- ie they take action against Tom Pope for his use of Social media but no action is taken against McKirdy for what he put on social media.Comments that were disrespectful against the club and it’s fans(double standards)Why no condemnation of the damage done to the seats and seats thrown by Swindon fans.Swindon fans had previous to this game gone onto the playing area themselves.I’m NOT condoning what happened. But the report is very one sided. It’s about time that match officials started to take action against players that dive, cheat, fake injuries (then get up and run about)These are actions by players that ruin the game of football itself and anger many of the fans. This then in return creates a reaction wether that reaction is right or wrong. But such diving cheating faking injuries does create a reaction. This is something in football that the match officials really need to clamp down on and act on to stop it happening.

Isn’t that what the police are paid to do and so they must take a lot of the blame ( totally useless )

The investigation and subsequent report were nothing to do with anything posted on Twitter so why mention it?
