'I’m still really surprised whenever I see this sort of comment re Stevens. The guy is still being monitored by 75% of the clubs in the Premier League. Arsenal nearly bid for him in January six months after Villa formally offered half a million.

If he has a good season at Vale he’ll be sold to a “Top 30” club and we won’t see him here again. There was a lot going on last season'

Not the most complimentary comments from Oxford fans about our loan signing. Some even saying he was statistically the worst GK in the league! 

A few saying looked quality in 19/20. Contracted glandular fever and Covid last term and really struggled to recover and firm dropped.

Time will tell but we all know from Jake Taylor how illness can affect your form and confidence.

Maybe a change of scenery and he can regain his confidence.

Using the England keeper and the other poster mentioning Holy does not mean I am wrong in my opinion. These two keepers are the exceptions. It would be interesting to check the goalkeepers heights of the teams in the top three divisions.

Vaclav Hladky isn't in Ipswich's first team plans and will be moved on.

Alex Smithies is currently unemployed with the season already started. Has stated he wants a move closer to his Huddersfield home (like when Scott Brown left Wycombe to join us)

Chris Maxwell isn't in Blackpool's first team plans, has said he wants regular football, and their manager has said he can leave.

What "isn't real" about those expectations?

Two promising signings for me today. A striker with a proven track record at this level (who we've paid a fee for) & a well rated GK with something to prove who has been battling it out to be #1 at a side looking to be in a playoff position this season. 

I'm not sure we could have hoped for much better 2bh in our current position. Newly promoted & many ppl tipping us to struggle. Add to that our wage structure & I'm happy with todays business. I think it's two really solid signings.

We're never going to be in for the "big hitters" at the moment. We have something to prove in L1 & I think in 12 months time once we have established ourselves we might have more pull.

Both will do well for us & both will improve our first 11 & options. Well done DC, DF & TJ.

Seems Oxford have 3 keepers and want time to assess them and will review at Xmas, as will Vale assess Stone.

For a start running a multi million pound business would suggest my intellect is fine. Getting real is about our pay structure, we would all like the best available but we have a secure financial limitations that so far are proving a sound basis. Believe in what the owners / management team are trying to build, don’t want to be another Bury. Being a forum you are entitled to your opinion without  the need for childish comments.
