Slightly off topic but whilst we worry about Wilson picking up a knock Bristol Rovers have had their own bad news:

Bristol Rovers can confirm that defender Nick Anderton has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.

As a result of this, Nick will undergo an operation in the coming weeks to remove this part of the bone.

Nick has issued the following statement:

"Unfortunately, this rare form of cancer which is affecting my femur means that I’ll be undergoing an operation in the coming weeks.

"This diagnosis has come as a huge shock to both myself and my family; however, we are remaining positive and hopeful.

"I want to thank everyone at Bristol Rovers, especially Club Doctor Ian Ferguson and Head of Medical Stuart Leake, the specialists at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham and my family for their continued support

Yeah. Highly rated at Crewe, and by others, but his ongoing contract dispute overshadowed his final months at the club. I’m very surprised he hasn’t picked up another club, must be a reason why but he’s a very good player.

Very good player as you say. The fact he hasn't been signed suggests to me maybe he went into the start of the summer with a far higher asking price than what clubs have been willing to pay (like one of those DF said were looking for £6k from us at the start). Couple that with the way he pretty much sat out the start of last season (though am sure it was more complicated than that) I can see why clubs are reluctant to throw too much at him.

I have no information but I think Nathan Bishop from Utd (on loan at Mansfield last season), or Hdlaky from Ipswich.
Would have had to wait on both as Bishop has spent pre season with Utd who have just returned from Asia, & Hdlaky will be holding out to see if he is starting at Ipswich.
Would take either, but Hdlaky would be unbelievable. The fact we have Carlo Nash in definitely gives us a chance as they worked together at Salford. 
I'd hope to have him in whoever it is by GW 2. Playing a very risky game having just one GK in Aiden Stone.

I'm sure i read somewhere this morning that Nathan Bishop will be joining Wycombe on a season long loan..

Why would we play Lowery in a friendly as a “trialist” surely he’s good enough that we either sign him or we don’t and that he wants to come if he is playing friendlies?

Would be quality but then sign him where would that leave Rory Holden?

Keeper wise DC mentioned again they were waiting on developments with his current club so sounds like it’s the same one we’ve been tracking for a while, Hladky looks the most likely which would be a great signing if we could get that over the line.

Hladky, Lowery, Holden and two decent strikers (not really been any links on that front) and we’d look in very good shape.

If we're in for Lowery, he would bring real quality and provide the creativity we miss when Conlon isn't playing.
