What annoys me is that we are a lot quicker than last season. When we actually go at teams direct we look good.We get teams worried and sometimes even arguing between themselves.Which is good. But we don’t do it no where near enough in a way that entertains and gets three points.

I’m sure, that along with most Vale fans, this forum makes grim reading after virtually every game whether home or away. The tactics are negative, we are outplayed by the opposition, we just hoof it up to Pope, we play five centre halves but we have a fantastic goalkeeper who keeps us in games.

Each week the same. Surely Aspin must be aware that we are fed up with his boring tactics yet he serves us up the same garbage every game. I am now beginning to think that he is way out of his depth and with crowds dwindling, it is time for a change. Seems I’m not alone in this thinking.

Oh no they didn't.

They've won 3 of the last 4 games, have the "new manager bounce" at the moment and were playing at home so always going to be a tough task for Vale, Macc shaded the 1st half, Vale the 2nd, neither deserved to win. Vale don't have a divine right to turn up and get 3 points.

Sol Campbell appears to have got Macc organized and playing together but they appear to lack a regular goal scorer. Good luck to Sol, gave his all for England.

I hope you're wearing a tin hat? Coming on here, talking sensibly - you're going to get some flak!!!

That was up there with one of the worst games of football I've ever watched.

Usual dross from Aspin.

Sums it it up when after the game he admits he is happy with a draw against a team bottom of the league.

We have better players than last season but his dismal tactic of playing Pope up front on his own bullied by two centre half’s is pathetic. We have a 50k striker not even in the squad 6 centre half’s sitting back absorbing pressure instead of players like Gibbons and Whitfield who can run at them.He is inviting teams to attack us because we have no wingers their full backs can push up.

Gibbons must play at right back and Clark at left back where he plays best.Suppose it will be back to Rawlinson at right back on Boxing Day.Neither Rawlinson or Vassell are full backs and resort to moving inside to their natural centre half position.Neither get forward down the wings but just pass the ball back or inside.

Pointless giving Pope a new contract if we don’t play to his strengths by crossing balls over from the wings.

We were slightly better in the second half when we actually put a few players in the opposition half when we didn’t have the ball. Quality on the pitch was awful, I disagree when people say our squad should we doing a lot better, the majority are mid table 2nd division players, bar Pope, Legge, Manny and Brown I don’t see a player good enough to play in a division higher.

Macc shaded the first half is a massive understatement. They played with a higher tempo with full backs pushed on, that we just couldn’t cope with and created much better chances than we did. Luckily their finishing was awful, with players taking too many touches or passes instead of shooting. Obviously Brown kept us in it with the fantastic double save too. They’d clearly done their homework in that away from home we have Hannant and Monty much further back than we should really, thus isolating Pope.

We improved second half but only because we went 4-4-2 and played a bit higher to give them something else to think about up front. But Monty is not a striker and he just doesn’t know what runs to make and he was caught offside loads of times. On top of that Conlon isn’t a left winger and we had no threat at all down that side, in fact even with the change in formation we don’t even look like we know what we want to do. No full backs overlapping, no midfield runners. It’s dire TBH. Like we pick a team and send them out with no real game plan. Again I thought our midfield were hardly in it, our full backs had bad games, Vassell had another poor game yet keeps his place. Clark came in and was no better than Rawlinson last week. He was getting an almighty bollocking from Pope in that first half, we were right behind the goal and could hear him clearly, and rightly so he needed to sharpen himself up. I thought Smith and Brown were the best players on show for us today. Hannant got a lot of room second half down the right but his crossing was poor. It says something when Quigley came on and looked like he’d injected some urgency into the proceedings.

Of course we’re on a 5 game uneaten run, but we aren’t playing well IMO, having no plan and players out of position is so frustrating. We also seem to have no players free for a pass, our keeper gets the ball and launches it, no one wants it off him. They all hide and it’s embarassing that we can’t seem to string anything together.

I think our next 2 home games are massive with lincoln after those.

Aspin is producing anti football the fans are bored and the players look bored. Montano was offside 6 times clueless. We did play better when Quigley came on. We just didn’t get a grip in midfield. Agree we should play Gibbons and Clark.

I was told today, Clarke is going back to Villa in Jan.
