The EFL vowed not to allow MK to happen again... (oddly Nuneaton are only half hour drive for me! but seriously wont happen.

I guess it is a business venture where he gets rent as a landlord and helps them survive... it does suggest though that Vale may end up split potentially if a new owner does come in.

Norman plays Stadium Monopoly - move to Go, collect £x thousand, buy football ground and collect more. Repeat. Then repeat again.
From a business point of view it's not a bad plan, you own assets on which you get rent and should get long term capital growth. If the tenants fail to pay, ie, go bust, you retain the asset but with the big difference to housing that you don't have a tenant eviction problem and you can easily redevelop the asset as without the original tenants the property has no other use.

Norm is a property man, he isn't bothered much about football it's a very poor second to making money n his world.

Don't think this really effects us. Any suggestion of MK Vale are wide of the mark.

Nice of old Norm to buy Nuneaton's stadium and rent it back to them isn't it? They must be desperate if they're welcoming him with open arms. I guess he must see it as a reasonable enough investment, tennants already in place, sure there could be some use made of it it the club couldn't afford the rent or went bust.

Or maybe he is just trying to help a local club in Coventry from financial difficulty.

A quote from the Coventry press - "The sale of the stadium will at this point, allow for the club to meet the current liabilities required for it to retain its status within the divisio

Lets just use it as another reason to have a go though :banghead:

I’m desperately looking for irony in your post, but none seems to be present.

If you seriously think that Smurfthwaite’s offer is purely to help Nuneaton, then I think you need urgent medical attention.

If your irony is lost on me I apologise, but Smurfthwaite and compassion are never heard in the same sentence.

Taken off FB:

Quote from Norman so his he saying that he wants 9 million for our club now

When I bought Port Vale, when I found out I owned a football club, I lodged a large amount of money in an account, I think it was about £9m, out of which came the proceeds to buy the club.

“That is down now to about £3.4m and that money is there to continue to fund the club. Obviously if I sell the club, I take that money back because it is mine.
