We seem to have had exactly the same number of matches as Mark "It is what it is" Hughes and the Deckchairs have had across the Christmas period and have done alright for ourselves. 270 minutes of running in 6 days for people paid to run around (his getting over 10 times what Vale players earn).

 

Aspin could very easily have rested our defenders, Popey etc yesterday as we'd never beat a team at the top of the table who score goals for fun...but he didn't and we d*cked them.

Smurf should sack Aspin on the spot. He could learn a lot from a legend of the game like Hughes. Such a congested fixture list over Christmas and he plays full-strength teams against high-flying Colchester, Coventry and Luton?! We would've been best concentrating on the Carlisle game and using some sort of squad rotation for the others we were never going to win. Then we wouldn't have got such a dismal return as...oh yeah...10 points from 12. Hahaha. Up the Vale.
