Someone mentioned we aren't tall enough at the back but Purkiss is actually our second tallest player, after Reggie, if I remember correctly

I did, it usually appears to me that Gills have taller players.

I don't buy into this 'if we continue to perform as we have done against Scunthorpe and Gillingham we'll be safe'. Those 2 games have brought us 1 point so, no matter how well we've played, if our performances bring us 1 point every 2 games, we will go down.

 

I would have taken 1 point before kickoff but that's because I expected us to be poor and outplayed as we have been so often away from home. I take no comfort from the fact we achieved that one point because we deserved all 3 and threw it away.

Sounds like Brown is getting fed up with Jerome's muscles injuries and him being unavailable listening to him on RS.

Still think an experienced manager on 1st Jan was the way to go. Not knocking Brown, he's doing the best he can in chaotic circumstances, but an old head who's been in a scrap before might have helped us grind out wins in games like today.

 

I keep looking at Mansfield's results - now 10 wins and 3 draws since Evans took over, and in the play off places. It's all about know-how, experience, leadership. I hope Brown does it but he's inherited a real mess and only time will tell whether he's got the nous to do it...

We've played decent in 3 of the last 4 games and should of got more than we did in all 3 which is a positive I suppose and if we can sort the errors we will be ok.

 

That feels like a loss though especially when in such complete cruise control by the sounds of it against an awful Gills side.

 

See what Tuesday brings... a point at Millwall followed by three on Saturday and things will look much better.

At least we've got our mandatory thumping away to Millwall to look forward to. My guess is 4-0.

 

Interesting to see how Shrewsbury managed to hold vs Scunthorpe, and none of the Vale old boys started.

But if you've got clever guy like Sproson using cliches like the performance doesn't matter it's the points that count and then we go and bugger it up and the actual opposite happens what does that mean?

That interview must have burnt any bridges between them so it would be better to just let him rot in the reserves and train with the youth players and basically dunna let him infect the first team with his pee poower attitude
