To be fair the subs made sense today it was just that Uche for whatever reason didnt hold the ball up to give us the opportunity to move up the pitch and Daniel was brought on to try and use his pace to chase the often wild panicky clearances. We really need to learn how to close games out, only Grant tried to keep the ball. We dont seem to break up play. To blame Yates for the goal is nuts but then there is no mention of of his goal line clearance from a corner on the post which some have been crying out for. It was overall a very dour game

good result thanks to an excellent goalkeeper as for page ,survival football again and he lives to fightanother week as a a=manager clinging on to his job on a weekly basis imho lets see what happens against that bunch of plumbers and trolley pushers from kent ?:yes:

See, that's the problem. Before the game, everyone was slating Page for not starting with Uche and saying how Ajay would never score in a million years. Then, after Ajay scores and Page brings a totally (by the sound of it) disinterested and under-performing Uche on (something that I'm sure the majority of the crowd were in agreement on), people slate Page for his subs. It's strange the negativity around the team when we've just won 2 league games on the trot, scored 4 and conceded 1 in 3 hours. I do understand it but it's such a shame that we can't be building a buzz with 3 really significant games over the next 9 days.

A win against a very poor team is not sufficient to enable fans to amend their long term feeling that perhaps we haven't got the manager we all crave for to give us exciting, attacking, thoughtful football? Well done certainly Vale in securing the 3 points but this HAS to be complemented in a win on Thursday.

I was there also and saw a team hanging on for dear life. The subs didn't work because Uche wasn't interested and we never got anything up for Daniel to chase. The subs took Dodds, o Connor and Moore out of the game completely. We had very few shots at goal and A J took his goal very well. Second was a result of excellent passing football on the ground and was very well finished by Foley. We lost all that by the substitutions. Still need a quality striker and Uche certainly isn't the answer. We were very lucky to get the win as we sat back and invited them to attack, clearances were poor and resulted in the ball coming straight back. If we play like that against Maidenhead we will go out.

On yesterday's showing Foley is an ideal replacement for Andoh and needs to start in that position again.

Bit of a smash and grab yesterday but 3 welcome points all the same.

Uche did naff all when he came on and many more of his no shows could pave a way for JJ to be given a shot.

Toss up between Moore and Foley for motm.
