Probably not as unprofessional as those plaques you gave supporters for 100 quid.

 

That was an abortion, I was sold a name on the statue and got a plate on a dirty wall... not what I had in mind to commemorate a friend who died or what I paid for

I only browse on here nowadays and very rarely reply. But it seems the same old moaning for moanings sake still exists.

 

Dave,this is one pathetic thread you started. A thread which wouldnt come to light should we be safe and ready to go for next season. Sadly we are not.

Never forget where we have come from and my comment about the plaques should send memories back to bad times and a chairman who had no clue whatsoever.

 

Norman has his faults. Without doubt. He is still learning. But in my eyes he has done wonders for our club in such a short space of time.

He deserves more credit than he gets.

He gets things wrong but which chairman doesnt?!

Im more than happy with Norman and trust that he will get it right in the summer regarding the management and players.

 

Youve got a hell of a nerve Dave to start a thread berating our best chairman since Belly, considering its still very, very, very fresh in my memory that you voiced your appreciation of Deakin and Miller and demanded fans back them.

 

With respect Dave... AndyJones.. You talk utter nonsense.

I am critical of things that are not right or could be better [in my opinion]. I include things done by myself or others, I am not selective in my approach.... but its all opinion given the facts I know, understand, what I expect or assume given the circumstances... and of course everyone's friend... hindsight.

I renewed in January at the office.I was given a perfectly acceptable receipt ,seat number etc.Heading on the receipt was Port Vale Football Club with boxes on ,which were filled in ,handwritten by the staff.Im not sure how else they could have done it.The paper seems reasonable quality.i suppose the gold edging is a bit OTT as we live in times of austerity.:D

Well yes. He is. His competition is Bill Bratt and Peter Miller.

 

Its one of the worst compliments you could give to the man.

 

Although Dave's issue is minor, it is another example that the club aren't getting the little things right. Dress it up how you want, the club is in a bit of a mess. We need complete overhaul of the playing and coaching staff, attendances have plummeted and Smurf has to put money in to stop us going under. The man took over a club with no debts.

 

Anyone who thinks Smurf has done a good job is deluded.

Attendances have tailed off rather than plummeted - anyone with an ounce of knowledge of Vale's support would have seen that coming.

I dont think he has done a BAD job... I think he tries to do a good job... but quite often lets himself down by putting his foot where his pie should go... The little things are niggling and irritating and could quite easily be avoided and by implementing a system that eliminates them it would also improve other areas and peoples perceptions of the business. If he wants to access money from other avenues he has to show a polished, smooth business front that is capable of handling any situation that may occur... glide like a swan but dont let them see your feet paddling at 60 to the dozen...
