  1. It hasn’t been only a bad season. It’s been an atrocious 16 months. From Garlick being tossed aside, to Clarkes sacking, to Flitcroft become all things football, to Crosbys boring tippy tappy crap, to a cup run we got caught up in despite playing anyone of significance, to three shambolic transfer windows, to relying on loan players and kids, to giving Flitcroft another January window and yet again no striker in sight, to sacking Crosby who should have been gone months before, to then sacking Flitcroft who should have never taken over the football side in the first place, to the embarrassing pathetic open letter from Carol, to her even more embarrassing pathetic these players are phenomenal speech, to Flitcrofts relegation isn’t in my vocabulary arrogance , to god awful players, to Darren Moore who quite frankly I’ve no idea what his philosophy is, to no bogs in the paddock, to the cringeworthy “El Presidente”, to the arrogance of the entire hierarchy of our proud football club of 148 years. Shame on you all. Disgraceful season. Anyone who actually turns up next week needs to see a doctor. The fans don’t deserve League 2 football. The club and those associated on the payroll do. Pathetic Vale. Pathetic.

  2. I’m sorry but that’s just virtue signaling political waffle. And please don’t state that you’ve always put the football side of things first because it’s a blatant lie. Even on our relegation day she mentions the community. Just get the summer right. Get proper footballers on the pitch. Real men with fight passion and skill. And stop making empty promises.

  3. Statement is fine, actions will speak louder than words. This will take some repairing for me to return though. Can’t say I’m looking forward to seeing Moore’s vale side next season The line ‘what happens on the pitch has always been a priority’ is a load of <ovf censored> though.

  4. Regardless of players, I just want us to scrap this wingback bullshìt formation. Play with proper wingers and attack and be positive, instead of this dull boring crap and not having a clue what to do when we hit the half way line because we have zero options going forward. Oh and sign players for those actual positions, instead of signing players and playing them out of position for the entire season. It's suicide.

  5. Back home and the biggest thing for me is don't feel anything, the players, management, DOF, owners have made me feel like this, not even bothered after getting relegated, I said it the day the transfer window shut was the day we went down. Today could easily have been another 7, absolute shambles at the back and stuck with most of these wasters again next year. For me I would only have Ripley, Garrity, Chislett, Dippepa and Plant and give him a go where he spent his youth career and see how he goes. The rest are not good enough and most don't care, never want to see the likes of Ojo, Massey, Jones, Grant, Loft in a Vale shirt again.

  6. Simple. I'm a Vale fan - always have been, always will be. Today was a bad day, we're dropping down to EFL2. I hate that. BUT I love the Vale. Cut me in half and it says Port Vale - like a stick of rick all the way through. Am I looking forward to life back in 2...?? Like <ovf censored> I am, but I'll do 10 home and 10 away like I always do. The season after (the way business is going) I'll buy a full season ticket, too. As the song says - I'm Vale Till I Die m8 That's why.

  7. Technically she didn’t turn a blind eye. She endorsed it and backed it up with a patronising letter… Some big questions to be answered and about time we heard something.
    12 points
  8. Only those with a committed desire to give her a kicking would have an issue with this. As others have said - just do your best to get it right. She’s made a load of mistakes but made a load of good decisions before that. I still think we’re in an overall, long-term good position with Carol Shanahan. Fingers crossed this was a step back that she learns from.

  9. The problem is it’s all becoming a bit repetitive, we were told last year we would learn the lessons from the poor January transfer window but then we proceeded to do exactly the same again this January, we also appear to have made the same mistakes with the managerial changes. The most annoying thing is the majority of fans saw this coming a long long time ago and have now been proved right yet those who make the decisions didn’t, let’s hope they don’t repeat these mistakes again or we’ll be looking over our shoulders again next season.

  10. Phil Sproson says we’ve got league two players. We haven’t, they’re not capable of playing at that standard.
    10 points
  11. I’ll say it now….. If the academy lads stay and we go into next season with Dipepa, Lomax, Shorrock, Plant, Walters etc, as regular starters, we will be in for a long hard season battling for our league status. Those lads, maybe not Dipepa, need to be on loan to national league north teams. To gamble on those kids will be just that. A huge gamble. We need a proper football team of men next season to fight at the right end of the table.

  13. Must be hell in lancytonys house tonight, been missing for weeks since Flitcroft stopped paying him to post on here and now we're down and all his ramblings from the season look mental.

  14. I'm a true fan Tony but I wasn't at Wycombe and I won't be there next week. We've lost 25 league games at home out of 45. My philosophy is if I'm not enjoying something I walk away. Our owner has treated the fans atrociously and hidden away from it all. Get rid of Moore...2 wins in 16,9 points out of 48. Dreadful
    8 points
  15. Don't worry about me - my mental attitude is still better than many of the morons on here - including yours. But I've been with the Vale through relegations before which is why I don't stamp my feet and throw my dummy out of the pram...or yap yap yap like some of you. My "ramblings"? Some of you can't even read properly, but I don't believe I've written anything but the truth. As for my absence - it has nothing to do with not being paid by Flitcroft - which is very nearly libellous - but more to do with my recovering from having half a leg amputated! I rarely have to worry about the upset I may cause people on here - my personal attacks are mostly in response to being attacked. So - I won't be around as much for a while...but I'll be in the disabled sector more, next season, now that some pain has gone away...leaving just a few pains on here! Looking forward to a rebuild, and another promotion season, next time round! UTYV VTID Happy Claooers rule!!!

  16. Why is it unjustified? It’s completely justified!!!! I’m a genuine vale fan, always have been, always will. Carol has dropped the ball, countless errors in the past two years. That is not deniable.
    8 points
  17. Just so. Such hostility is completely unjustified towards someone who, despite this season's very poor outcome, has only ever tried hard to help and restore our club. In certain cases, the hostility is because they are closet Stoke supporters trying to harm our club by offending and alienating our greatest benefactor. But the genuine Vale supporters who also join in are beyond all reason - let's go out of our way to be offensive to the person who is the sole reason why Vale still exists after Smurthwaite leeched it dry. I hope that those genuine Vale supporters have a careful think about their actions and the potential consequences.

  18. We've got exactly what we deserve. With no scoring forwards, a defence that is seriously sub standard and a poor midfield what else do you expect? Abysmal all season and I for one cannot see that we'll do any better in Division 2.

  19. That 11 would go down in league 2 im certain of it.

  20. Not my fault or problem that the owner thought it was a bright idea to give a bloke with 3 wins in 23 games a 5 year contact. Ludicrous decision. We were bad under Crosby and somehow regressed further with Moore, with easier fixtures. The football is dire, we put every man behind the ball, create nothing and still conceded a bucket load of shots / goals. I understand the players aren’t close to this level, but his tactics and subs are about the same level of these players. For me, start again, completely. It’s not my fault funds have been wasted. Something needs to change as we are only heading in one direction. We played better under the youth manager than under Moore.

  22. I thought we were going down when Cheltenham beat us at home so not a big shock. Still a shame, I just hope this side is ripped apart and 95% released

  23. I think Crosby would have kept us up. That’s how bad Moore has been.

  24. I didn't say me, I said us. At the end of the day, I'm a customer of her business and I'm paying hundreds of pounds, and so are thousands others, to watch a conference level team and to piss in a portaloo. It's not good enough really is it. She promised better communication to fans yonks ago and yet it's worse than ever. And as of yet, nobody has heard from her since her shockingly embarrassing 'open letter' licking Flitcrofts arse.. Only to get rid of him a month later. She's floundering and she'd get a lot less flack from 'keyboard warriors' if she came out and was honest.

  25. 🚨True fan alert 🚨 If you want to go watch an already relegated side try and avoid the 14th home defeat out of 23 this season, crack on. Thousands won't.

  27. Mrs S . Well done. Phenomenal. The coaches wives know how good we are. Darren knew the first 3 games we'd lose. We'll see the real Port vale on Tuesday night . Oh dear

  28. Don't look sorry for yourselves lads, you've had 45 games. Absolute garbage.

  29. Moore needs to go. We can’t go into next season playing this kind of football. Get him gone.

  30. All of them, except Garrity, Chislett and Dipepa, and maybe 3 of the other kids. Leutwiler hasn't ever disgraced himself either. The other 28 GET OUT.

  31. Carol - Bolton are Championship ready. That is the level you need to achieve. We are non-league ready at the moment. 😡

  32. I thought they were far better than us at their place as well. Fleetwood battered us, Cheltenham took 6 points and Burton were dire but have shown some bottle. I personally think we’re the worst side in the league who had a lucky start and if not for that would be 24th where we belong.

  36. You see, when you royally <ovf censored> up in life (and we’ve all been there) you are normally held accountable to a handful of people. She’s accountable to thousands who have loved this club long before she was around. That statement is like a fella begging his Mrs to stay, with a big speech about how he’s sorry for cheating and look at how much I love you. There’s no disgrace in owning your <ovf censored> ups in life. One single sorry followed by how much I love you just doesn’t wash. A better statement would have been how sorry she was in taking her eye off the ball. How sorry she was for giving Flitcroft those windows and allowing him to dictate the club. How sorry she was for not fixing things like the toilets in the paddock whilst yards away she eats prawn sandwiches with Robbie Williams. How sorry she was for getting rid of good people at the club who were at the heart of our play off success. How sorry she was for royally <ovf censored> up this football club when the fans were <ovf censored> telling her 18 months ago! Her promises and words now mean nothing. Honeymoon period well and truly over.

  37. Ben and Chizzy will definitely have clubs after them. Id be amazed if they were Vale players next season and I'd wish Ben all the best.

  38. My personal opinion: we cannot just get rid of everyone, it doesn’t work like that. We’d have no money left to sign anyone decent by paying up. So got to be careful and think about who can do a job in L2. don't forget, we were poor when we played Mansfield, who were unbeaten at the time and have stormed L2, and we played them off the park. There is a gulf between L2 and top half of L1. Our squad wasn’t good enough for L2 but I am confident that there are players there that have done or will do a job at a lower level. All loan players go back (obviously). Don’t sign any - not been good enough. Under contract players to keep: Connor Ripley - two L1 relegations but stood out in both of those campaigns. Would easily be good enough for a promotion chasing L2 side Nathan Smith - We know what he can do at L2 level. I do this we need a commanding Leon Legge type defender alongside him though. He’s not a leader to me. Mitch Clark - been really unlucky this season. Get him back and he’ll be a good player for us Ben Garrity - nothing more to be said. Got to build the squad around him. Make him captain for me. Just hope he doesn’t force a move or someone else comes in for him. At least we’d get some money though. Ethan Chislet - copy and paste Garrity (bar the captaincy bit). Funso Ojo - lost his way a bit but a more than good enough player - should run the show in L2 (look at the Mansfield game, they were top and unbeaten when we played them and we made them look average). James Plant - we’re ruining him a bit by playing him more defensively. When he first broke through he was fantastic further forward. Let’s get him further up the pitch. Shorrock/Lomax - loan them out Baylee Dipepa - proved himself enough for a part to play in L2. Jesse Debrah - I do like him. He’s young and has pace which none of our other defenders have. We can improve him, I just think NL to L1 was a step too far, so L2 should be good for him. Under contract players to release/undecided Dan Jones - we already know he is good enough for L2 having been promoted with us before, but he is too injury prone. Could go either way. With his fitness though, I don’t think he would want to end his contract, so might be stuck with him anyway Tom Sang - trouble with Sang is, he’s becoming a bit of a jack of all trades. He’s not good enough defensively to be a full back or wing back, at least he wasn’t in L1. But he’s still young enough to develop and I’d like to see him in CM. Ryan Loft - sorry, but a bit of work rate just isn’t enough. Although his strike rate in L2 does work out at one in four. I don’t know what his contract is like but if he’s a higher earner he needs to go. If not, he might be good in the squad. Connor Grant - same as Sang. I’d love to see him in the middle, he is a tidy footballer. Not defensively good enough or quick enough out wide though. Alex Iacovitti - sometimes he’s brilliant and sometimes he’s dire. I don’t think we can keep all the centre halves as we need to get at least one better commanding one in. He’d probably be there one of look to move on. Out of contract players Maybe keep Leutwiler as he can’t be on much and is a solid back up, but honestly I’d rather see a younger lad come in and learn. Give that Wynne a game next week just to see what he’s about. Keep the academy prospects if they’re good enough or want to stay. Release the rest. Even if all the under contracted players stayed, that gives us a squad of 16. If we add 9 quality additions of top of that, we’d probably be alright. Aim to get a left wing back, and then an experienced CB (big commanding leader), CM (like Ryan woods at Exeter) and ST (Cameron Jerome?), and hope we can find some more young talent like Ollie and Alfie. Couple more strikers I think we’ll have a good squad for L2

  42. I've been a Vale supporter for 70 seasons and there have been many more "sad seasons" than ecstatic ones. It goes with the territory as the younger cohort of fans will also come to understand!

  43. It isn’t though. (Off one poster maybe) but it’s no more obsessive than fans stating the players are <ovf censored> or DF should have gone ect. She’s got literally everything wrong in the past 2 years. It’s been a disgrace. The club is an embarrassment
