Never mind the number of fouls, the ref booked one of their players for a bad foul then gave THEM the free kick, how does that work.

cole is a fantastic striker. that is all. just what we needed to sign. a credit to his dad . paton had his best game for vale and we absolutely stunk the place out and killed them off with a second half performance straight out of john colemans playbook. well done lads 

 

onto mansfield and another winnable game against Nigel.

Had we signed Cole at the start of the season we would probably be 5 or 6 points better off and in the top half of the table.

You could argue that had we remained switched on and defended better in some games, we would have gained more points even without Cole.

Just reading some of their fans opinions, they sound like we did under Crosby. One said they were far superior technically to us. Basically, because they pass it 10 yards side to side to each other, they have the false sense that it makes them technically good. I'd say Humphreys, Byers and Cole are far superior technically to anything they have but we didn't need to use it. We simply took our 2 chances, fully in the knowledge that as long as we kept our shape, we'd easily see it out. As simple a win as we'll have all season and it came at the perfect time.

They also think we'll likely be playing them again in league 2 next season. In my opinion, we've been better than 90% of teams we have played this season. Certain things haven't gone for us but we also didn't have a striker to just put the ball in the net. I'd be amazed if we aren't significantly above Exeter come the end of the season.

Buzzing. Been sick of the patronising head pats from opposition fans. Very easy to be magnanimous when you’ve won.

If fans are blarting it’s because they’ve gone home miserable and a bit fuming. Sobbing into their takeaway and have to let it out on the forums. Weekend ruined by Darren’s Tricksters.

And I was agreeing with you, which is why I said that the result was the only thing that mattered today.

I do, however, remember times when we have been lucky enough to enjoy football that was both attractive and yielded results.

In an ideal world I'd choose that 1st, then ugly winning.  Attractive losing football would be a distant 3rd choice.

Today Ruari will get the headlines but that was a top team performance. Front to back, worked their collective arse off.
