Match Thread: Exeter City v Port Vale

Just a heads up for anyone thinking of going to Exeter for the weekend.

The women's rugby world cup quarter finals take place that weekend and hardly any accommodation available.

We declined to book the usual Premier Inn at £170 a night, when the fixtures were released.Even that is booked up now.

Stay at Taunton, Weston or Teignmouth. All very easy to get to Exeter by train.

Agree. May be worth checking out places on the coast between Sidmouth and Torquay.  Exmouth has a station with regular trains into Exeter.

I’d have thought Exmouth will be booked up as well, probably a bit too close.

I rather think the rugby would be more attractive to watch at the present!

Yes very likely, worth checking though as lots more accommodation available these days with Airbnb’s.  Some people will go away for a few days & let their property that way.  We thought about staying over but haven’t looked at it yet.

A couple of my mates were on about stopping over in Torquay for a couple of nights then getting the train up to Exeter for the match but dont know if they ended up booking anything up or not.

Sure saw availability in Exmouth. Caravan also in dawlish train 25mins to the grd

Thanks for the heads up. Looked at some IHG hotels which were 400 night! I noticed there was some music festival on too, but didn’t realise about the rugby. Will have a look at some other options and travel in

Try laterooms or booking.com. Worked for me 🤠

Hi, can anyone please advise me on the coach’s for Exeter? I’ve purchased two tickets for my son and myself for the match and the coach. I’ve received an email of confirmation but never done the coaches before and it doesn’t give any details. No timings to arrive, no seat numbers. Thank you

Senior moment lol

It should say on the ticket near the QR code what time departure is. Arrive earlier than that and park in the fanzone area. The coaches will be across the road from there, by the park. Pick an empty seat of your choice on the correct coach number and sit in it. Someone will come and look at your ticket sometime during the journey. Take some small change for the drivers whip round on the way back.

Pitch a tent up at the music festival and that way you've got plenty of beer 🍺 and your accommodation will be cheap as chips 👍😁
