Match Thread: Exeter City v Port Vale

Featured Replies

Based on the information we've changed our plans to stay over & will head back after the game. Thanks for the head's up about the Rugby game. We plan to see the sights in Exeter in the morning before the game. For us it's a two hour drive so not too bad. It's a key game, lose and Moore looks in an impossible situation, I really hope he can pull off his first win in Exeter.

This is the team that I would play against Exeter

Gauci

John, Debrah and Humphreys in the middle with Gordon at LWB and Clark at RWB.

Croasdale and Ojo in midfield.

Curtis as an attacking midfielder playing behind Cole and Paton.

I too would love to play with 12 on the pitch, certainly might help our chances of getting 3 points 😄

Oops my mistake I've changed it now by removing Walters from the starting 11 but the first team is the one that I would pick next week.

My second choice starting 11 would be:

Gauci

John, Debrah and Humphrey's in the middle, Clark at RWB and Gordon at LWB

Croasdale as a DM with Ojo and George Hall in the middle

Cole and Paton up front.

We need to go back to being organised and hard to break down. Giving up possession stats so long as it is out of danger. We did that really well last season. That has to be the foundation and then see where we go from there.

                   Gauci

Clark Humphreys Hall Gordon

          Croasdale   Byers

      Curtis                 Walters

               Cole Brown

In pursuit of trying to find a starting 11 and formation that works, I’m reluctant to drop: Humphreys, Walters, Croasdale, Cole, Garrity

Rotating anyone else makes sense to find a solution, and personally I would go with Cole and Stockley when he’s back for an extended run.

Interesting.

It was only a week or so ago that almost everyone on here was screaming that Walters must absolutely start every game, and what the hell was Moore thinking not starting him.

It was a struggle to pick my team for Exeter but Ojo and Paton both deserve to start after their performances yesterday IMO. Croasdale does come up with a goal now and again so that's why I'd start him just ahead of Walters and tbh I was probably one of a few who wasn't screaming for Walters to start every game.
