I just have a feeling that Ruari is going to score in this game.

If he is starting with a front 2 it has got to be Paton and Cole and then maybe if fit enough have Hall as an attacking midfielder

Local one for you.

I totally agree about the wingbacks. It’s not right to expect them to do all the attacking and defending on the flanks. In L1 the space is easily exposed in a few passes. If Headley and Clark had a winger to team up with they’d be laughing but were too ‘evolved’ to sign or play a winger.

I’m more than happy to hark back to the Gibbo / Worrall combination we had that worked a treat with their understanding of each others game. I’m not a fan of using wing backs. You either end up with a winger conveyed to be a wing back or full back converted to a wing back and they’re usually decent at either defending but not attacking, or vice versa.

I don’t see how you can make that assessment so soon. He’s played 3 games for us, made 5 saves, conceded 3 goals. I agree, he looks better than Marosi who looks awful but still far too early to say he is a quality keeper.
For me, he looks full of confidence, polar opposite to Marosi but will that be permanent? His passing has been poor and dwindled on the ball too long a few times including the incident at Birmingham which could easily have cost us a goal.
People get criticised for writing players off after a few games- it works both ways, you can’t say a player is quality after a few games either, especially a goalkeeper who has conceded more than a third of  the shots on target.

Fair enough. I’ve made an early judgement but I think he looks a real solid keeper, started a few for Barnsley last season as well

Town centre car parks easiest bet if you get there early.  There are several park and rides just off the M5 which are a good option if you’re a bit later arriving and I think a couple of these are near train stations which connect directly to St. James’ Park station right by the ground, although no idea if this is a reliable service…just like trains everywhere.

Could well be a very good keeper but still early days. At least one person said Faal is excellent and should be in our starting eleven ahead of Stockley after the one game at Blackpool!

Sure is mate.  Only 70 miles and 90 minutes,  lol. Roughly the same as Plymouth.   I'm going, so is my eldest daughter who lives down here in Kernow,  plus my youngest daughter and grandson,  down on the coach from VP.  Hoping to meet some of the SW Valiants as well. Looking forward to it, and praying for a win

We have to win this game, all of my Stoke friends are laughing at me and I can't take it anymore.

My worry having read this thread is that practically everyone has a different starting eleven. Which ones make the back three, which wingbacks do you select, who out of Croasdale, Walters, Byers and Ojo are the central midfield duo, what's the pairing upfront and so on...

I think this is an effect of the constant rotation and squad imbalance (i.e. so many wingbacks to select from, so many similar central midfielders, three goalies) that there's no common consensus on our best starting XI. We don't even know who the number one goalie is. Seven games into a season that's a concern...

Quite right it's a concern because it shows continuing poor recruitment and a manager that doesn't seem to have a clue what his best team is. If you were being generous (or credulous) you might say he is picking a team based on the opposition we are facing.

And we can all see how that is working out.

I would love Moore to prove all the doubters wrong and the Vale have a storming run of performances and results. If not then we all know what happens.

I’m not sure Gauci was bought here as injury cover. He’s been signed to be the number 1. Quality keeper

no easy games at the moment in our current position; I don’t rate the goalkeeper and the manager’s tinkering with the squad; just plot win rather than messing about

Went a Warners in Nantwich for my 50th - they have a golf course there. Rocked up at reception with my clubs and Mrs Hoppers in tow, said Hi, Hoppers here, two of us booked for the weekend and point me to the course please - Ahhhhhh Mr Hoppers, bit of a problem there, the fences to next doors farm broke yesterday, and weve had a stampede, course will be shut for a few days 🙈🙈🙈🙈

Other than that, it was ace, so have a great time DD and watch out for all the zimmer frames 👍😁❤️❤️❤️

Don't be so silly. Come on Joe. It just goes to show how fickle we are as fans.

2 months ago Ojo was hated. Now he's loved. 2 weeks ago there was anger and disgust that DM hadn't picked Walters, now people are saying he doesn't start.

Some of the comments on this site are just ridiculous.

Thats football fans, on a football forum.

Quite rightly two months ago Ojo was way way down the order by almost every fan, now he is near top rated for a place by lots of fans. Nowt wrong with that. Its up to the players to earn fans good comments.

As the poster said about Walters, their feelings towards Walters have not altered too much. There is always good and bad comments about most players from Garrity to Waine.

Dont agree with you ? thats fine just let them get on with it

I was extremely critical of Moore's rotation early last season, but it arguably kept key players fresh for the run-in where they were all fit and firing.

Difference was we were gaining points every week
