Baggeley seems to suggest that Gabriel, G Hall, Stockley, and Garrity could all be close to contention on Saturday.

Oh for a competative reserve league to bring our players on

I think I’m right in saying every game we’ve lost, we’ve lost by 1 goal. Should have beaten Stevenage, at least a draw against Orient, I’m sure we would have beaten Burton with 11 on the pitch, opener we should have got something and again 10 men. Those fine margins show we’re not far away. If we’d had Cole before Saturday I’m sure we’d be fine now, especially in really tight games like Cardiff. We’ll be fine but we have to learn to stay in a conservative shape. That was our default method of gaining points last season so surely we can get that tactic back on track. Stockley and Garrity will be game-changing differences too.

Too true but most games we won last season were by one goal. Perhaps those fine margins showed we were a little lucky to finish second ?

I totally agree about the wingbacks. It’s not right to expect them to do all the attacking and defending on the flanks. In L1 the space is easily exposed in a few passes. If Headley and Clark had a winger to team up with they’d be laughing but were too ‘evolved’ to sign or play a winger.

Spot on. Especially when our wing backs seem to evolve from being defensively minded full backs. Full of the energy needed but a little short on the skill required to step a man and then deliver a good ball into the box to a Vale player.

Thats football fans, on a football forum.

Quite rightly two months ago Ojo was way way down the order by almost every fan, now he is near top rated for a place by lots of fans. Nowt wrong with that. Its up to the players to earn fans good comments.

As the poster said about Walters, their feelings towards Walters have not altered too much. There is always good and bad comments about most players from Garrity to Waine.

Dont agree with you ? thats fine just let them get on with it

Think you've missed the point.  Again...

Generally, you’re not “lucky” to get promoted automatically as second place finishers over a 40 odd games season.

This season we are only losing by one goal. By your definition, does that mean we are unlucky.

We have got one it's called the football league trophy. Besides the prize money, this competition for me allows the club to play players not featuring regularly and players coming back from injury to get some match fitness

Back in the day teams had a reserve team that played at home when the 1st team were away, if you aren't playing in the first team games are few and far between.

I Know, I remember Vale reserves playing in the old Cheshire League against teams like Northwich Vics, Macclesfield and other reserve teams like Stockport and Oldham etc.

Hello Valiants. Firstly parking there is no street parking so either get to the Triangle car park which is about a 15-20 minute walk or park at the Sowton park and Ride just off the M5. However, I expect with the Women's Rugby and that being the closest parking for that you are best avoiding the park and ride. Onto the game itself and realistically this is a 6 pointer as both clubs are more likely to be closer to the bottom 6 than the top 6. Very similar feel to 2022/23 when you did the double over us. This game will I fear be a turgid affair of two teams scrapping. Whoever scores first wins

How have you been playing so far this season?

Mr hyde and Dr jekyll sums it up. Against Blackpool and Peterborough some of the best one touch passing for many a season. Every other game the complete opposite. So which team you play against is anyone's guess! We still have a number of key players missing or carrying injuries

Should be a real.good game down at Exeter .

Hopefully we not as giving as last time played them ,ok it was at Vale park, superb first half 2 nil up thinking no way have the real Vale turned up in league 1, too a second half collapse where the defence may aswell have gone home as they were atrocious and we managed concede 4 goals .

Im sick of seeing Vale have the ball run against them in this campaign thus far .

Easily could be sat on 14 /18  points in my opinion, such have being the displays to have 2 is not just sickening its absolutely unjust .

Hoping the ball hits there net and not ours

Performance levels need be high and hopefully the Vale can start too convert there superiority into goals and wins , and not switch off at the  back and the margins start too favour the Black and Whites .

Heres Hoping
