Makes little difference, Garrity’s definitely didn’t go in and Wilson’s finish would probably have been missed by Uche and Loft would have watched it roll past in front of him.

We have two categories of player at Vale.

Those that do everything right and should be picked every game, loved by the fans - who in reality get 50% of decisions wrong.

Those reviled by the fans that do everything wrong and should never play again - who in reality get 50% of decisions right.

Arblaster is the only absolute quality player we have.

Wilson needs signing up for sure. I think he’s the only Vale striker to score a league goal which says it all. Yes he’s injury prone but I’d rather have a quality striker who can play half the games than someone who plays all the games but can’t score.

We can't keep falling for this. He will get injured again and spend weeks/months out of action. As good as he is, a tap-in against Wycombe is not evidence his injury problems are behind him. He's got 6 goals in League 1.

He's managed 27% of the minutes so far this season. He managed 31% of the minutes last season. We can't keep sinking a wage into a player who is available for less than a third of the minutes we play. We've got two frauds up front already, and when Wilson gets injured again, that's all we'll have as the money has been spent on a player who isn't available.

Great player, and responsible for perhaps the greatest 4 game run in Vale history at the end of the 21/22 season (4 goals, MOTM at Wembley, penalty in the shootout), but it's time to move on and identify a player who can play every week and contribute regularly, not sporadically. We can do better.

If the very best our recruitment department can offer is Uche Ikpeazu, Ryan Loft, and James Wilson every 3 games, then what on earth is the point in them? They simply need to find better.

The answer is to bring in 3 more centre halves. Surely we can bore the fans to a new level in 2024.

Willo has been the most exciting player at Vale for many years and can really get fans off their back side. It is a pleasure watching him. However with the amount of times he is out he makes a very expensive squad member. If Garraty had received the kick that has kept Willo out for the last two months, he would have probably only missed one or two games.

I think for this reason he will not be offered a new contract in January. I don't know if anyone noticed Crosby's body language yesterday at the end of the game. He was going around the players patting them on the back except when JW came up to him he couldn't wait to move on the next player and didn't make eye contact. It was a sign to me that his days are numbered as a Vale player.

For me personally I would keep Willo who could possibly help us to win an extra 20 points this season rather than Crosby who won't.

With the other options we have available it's a no brainer. Just hope he can stay fit. The football we are trying to implicate is suited perfectly for willo

With Credit in the bank from the last two seasons and 16 goals from 76 appearances surely our Manager is not going to clear him off in the next couple of weeks?
Even with his limited starts he is streets ahead of Loft and uche and in my opinion should be given the rest of the season to lead the line...

Doesn't matter who the striker is, if he gets no service, he will not score. So what do the Vale do, let Wozza, our best crosser of the ball leave the club just because of a measley extra 12 months on a contract.

If Willo wants to stay I would bite the bullet and sign him 'til the end of the season. Manage him carefully so get the most playing time out of him.

His football intelligence and skill level are currently head and shoulders above anyone else at Vale Park and he does have a knack of being in the right place at times to pop in a goal. Damn shame he has the injury problems.

Vale desperately need a striker who can at least score some goals, that would presumably mean either Thomas going back to Swansea or Loft or Uche going out on loan. Mistake to sign two similar type of striker in Loft and Uche IMHO.
