I like the sentiment but effort comes from motivation. When a sportsman is not motivated you get the bare minimum. For whatever reason this year the players have clearly had no motivation and now they seem to have the spark back. I would be looking to build on this rather than just tear it down and risk demotivating by releasing majority of the squad. Not a great move for team building.
