I take it Cassy wasn’t injured? Was that tactical?

lets also hope Massey, Pett, Walker, Hussey are getting match fitness into them on Tuesday ready to available for Exeter.

We've got the Rotherham and Stockport games to get some minutes into the legs of the returnees.

With the 5 subs rule change I think we’ll see a lot of fit players subbed.
Makes sense to keep as many of them fit and fresh for the next game.
Gone are the days where it’s viewed as a poor performance / injury to be subbed.

Exactly.

Becoming more like rugby union.

Maybe the days of anyone playing a full 90 minutes are numbered?

Equally, being on the bench may be seen in a more favourable light?

Good start to the season. Not perfect in terms of performance by any stretch but I'll take a win like that any day.

If we can get a couple of good strikers and Willow back to finesse (plus Conlon and Walker) we'll have a good sound squad.

Will we win every match - absolutely not. As long as we out in a shift and try to play our game I think we'll finish somewhere around midway or higher.

After that it's taking a season or two to be ready to push for the Championship.

Hoping to get to Exeter next week and possibly to Vale Park for the Bolton match.

I think it was to get a defensive defender on the pitch to see out the game, certainly didn't appear injured

It's the general overall upgrading, of everything, that gives the belief that we will get there.

Wherever there may be.

Improving quality on and off the field.

I think it's when placed in that context that critical comments are seen as a bit baffling.

Especially when compared with most of the last 20 odd years.

16 players to judge and comment on, as well as the referee and assistants

Has anything been said about Massey yet which explains why he wasn’t in the match day squad? Hoping it’s just down to lack of match fitness because he went without a preseason. Fingers crossed he’ll be included next weekend in some way, shape or form - be nice to have an extra option for the forward line before we either sign another striker or wilo returns. UTV!

I'm pretty certain that if it was just match fitness that was an issue he'd have been on the bench. Looks like an injury to me
