I’m inclined to agree that Stoke will win tonight. But so they should given the amount of money they’ve thrown at it. Although it comes to something when ‘Bryn & Co’ are on Radio Joke demanding a contract extension for a 40-year centre back with a turning circle similar to the QE2.

Disappointing to hear a last-minute Wigan equaliser was ruled out but I expected the win anyway. A broken clock and all that….

But in striped-eyed land I suppose it means the title-chase is very much back on. Neil is a tactical genius and master motivator, Tymon should consider himself unlucky not to be on the plane to Qatar, Jagielka is a rock at the back and should be given a 5-year extension with the option for another 3-years blah blah blah….

It’s good they pick up the odd win here and there. As the old saying goes it’s the hope that kills you. The more of the <ovf censored> we see crying on the TV on the last day the better.

Wigan are toss. So are Birmingham. Before tonight I fancied them to get six points from those two.

I listened to P&G after the Preston win and the Norwich defeat recently and I can’t help but think that Stoke are stuck in some sort of purgatory where they win a couple and their fans are up, then they lose a couple and they’re on the floor.

Their optimism gets burst, then reinflated every couple of weeks. Last season a mate called it ‘death by a thousand cuts’.

The Stoke game was very strange to watch, it was like to pub teams playing each other especially with how both teams were defending
