He isn’t tall, doesn’t have a great deal of presence, doesn’t have a huge amount of pace.
I shouldn’t be attacked for having an opinion, it’s simply unfair. I’m merely saying that I’m concerned that he calibre of player seems to be average at best.

Gives us some League 1 experience too and a good age. 

A deal that probably only came about because Morcambe need cash to chase Stockton… so if we hadn’t have waited it may not have been an option earlier in the summer. Was it worth the wait… it will be fun finding out!

Some of the names linked as a striker on this site, I think he’s probably the best of the lot.

Reading twitter comments from Gas and Pompey fans they both said what a really good lad he is. Passes do the <ovf censored> test.

I do wonder about Stockton though. Are there red flags about him? Doesn’t appear a lot of interest in him.

It depends what you are expecting this season. I think Ellis is a player who if we are looking at staying up and pushing us on will hopefully get us the goals to do that. Didn't do alot for Fleetwood the other week against Vale though. We aren't going to challenge we are not expected to so if he can get us 10 goals I would snap your hand off and that should at least keep us up.

Ellis came on for 27 minutes plus injury time against us.

Two attempts(headers) on goal,two assists.

If say that's ok for first game of the season

Must admit was expecting a loan signing of a fringe youngster from a higher league club who was going to cut his teeth in mens football. Impressed we paid money for someone who has scored goals in this division. DC already worked with him previously so no nasty surprises. Looking how Wilson has come on during last season expecting DC to do likewise, seems he has promising material to work with.

Ok I take it back that is pretty good although u are judging him against our defence. We are though quite lucky that we get goals from everywhere so if he bangs in 10 that would be fantastic.
