Match Thread: Stevenage v Port Vale

Are they doing refunds for season tickets, I could not force myself to go and watch the same tactics over and over. Constant swapping of forwards that are not getting any service that suits their game.
Nearly Every team plays 2 upfront, we don’t yes we don’t concede many but we don’t bloody score many either.
we all know it’s not 433 as most of the time it’s 451. If he does not want our midfielder to get over run play 3 5 2 for goodness sake.

To all intents and purposes, it looks to me as though he has lost it with the players - tactics, motivation, game management, team selection - they are playing like they no longer have any confidence in him.

I agree. I think something has happened behind the scenes, I really do. The team look lost and scared to make a run, get on the ball and be positive. Very sad state of affairs.

Carol is to nice. Askey has a job for life.

Think being Vale owner and a Vale fan she will push the button when it is needed.

She may have had tentative talks with Colin about managers out there already and what is going wrong at the club.

She's laid staff off at Synectics, FACT.

I don't doubt that, but I think she's the type to go long-term and not make a decision like this mid-season. There isn't a gluttony of good managers free and available, so I think she'll prefer to hold tight and limp to May before crunch time falls.

In reply Jacko51 Never wanted Askey as manager In the first place and don’t worry about me being miserable princess I’m sat here in my ivory tower with a big smile, feeling really smug simply because I was right and you were wrong !!!! 😂

So why don't you comment on games when we win??  I don't get it.  It's as if you want Vale to lose so you can be proved right in your opinion of Askey - it's mad.  I'd want Vale to win if we had bloody Tony Pulis as manager.  Sitting with a big smile when your team has lost shows a very strange attitude to football.  Feel sorry for you mate if you can't enjoy our wins but glory in our defeats - you must have had a bloody dreadful time last season!

Amazing.
Why do we have to be compared to macc? There nothing to do with us. Stop making out we’re doing brilliant because we’re not out of business.
Delighted with owners and off the pitch community.
Happy that I’ve not died from covid? That relates to this how?
happy we’ve won some games? hell I know we’re scraping the barrel but Jesus. Not being bottom of the league. Some massive positives here!!!
I would take them two over what we have now. There were poor but in a higher league better than this shower.
There is not one reason to be positive about the footballing side. Off the pitch fine. But not on it.
You asked "What on earth is there to be even the slightly bit remotely positive about!!?!?"

Would you be happier if you didn't have a club to watch because a dodgy owner had taken us out of business?

Would you be happier if we were bottom of the league and we hadn't seen a win?

Would you be happier if you couldn't watch the vale because the government had decided vale weren't aloud to play?

Would you be happier if you were dead?

These are all things that could have happened. Maybe you should appreciate the fact that you are alive, have a club to watch and have seen your team win this year rather than be a miserable git because we aren't unbeaten at the top of the table. Or maybe you could watch Liverpool and post rubbish on their forum because spurs are above them.

Like, I'm a diehard Vale fan blah blah blah, but paying full whack for a season ticket (we sold nearly 4k didn't we?) and then paying £10 every other week is very expensive for this utter dross.

Thousands of Vale fans backed, and continue to, financially support the club in precarious times, and for the 5th game in a row we're left bored, annoyed, and devoid of optimism.

It's not on, tbh. There wasn't even a crumb of battle about them tonight, bar Rodney who, God Bless Him, tried when he came on.

Have to agree with all of this
