Match Thread: Stevenage v Port Vale

Featured Replies

Time to start a winning run. Where better than Stevenage with only a league win in September to brag about. But suspensions, injuries and Covid have reduced our options,  thus Brisley and McKirdy must be in the running.  However I  will leave selecting a team to win by 3 goals to Askey,  but there may well be interesting alternatives.

Personally speaking i do think this is a must win game for Askey

Definitely  not the time for our usual charity when visiting a struggling club, with our recent results.

They are 2nd bottom arent they? so lose and then even i will be asking questions of Askey, fingers and everything crossed we can get 6 points out of the next 2

A must-win, and McKirdy has to start off the striker.

Have no idea what the score will be but the chances are it will end .... Port Vale 0 unless  we change things around.

As I’ve said on a different page, I think he must try 5.3.2 which sounds defensive, but if you’ve got two attacking WB’s in Clarke and Monty, two up top and Worrall, Burgess and Manny in midfield we really ought to have creativity in us.

But I agree.... it’s a must win for me and anything other than 3 points and I’ll be nudging towards the ‘out’ camp.

Would a 4-5-1 formation work away from home? I am sure Rudge played that formation away from home a fair few times

0-0 or 1-0 either way. Horrible place and horrible spoiler of a team.

Amazed if it's a classic.

He did.  And the dwarf Tony Naylor was the 1!

Must win. These are a very poor side that should have gone down last season. Think askey needs a minimum of 4 points from the next two games. Mckirdy has to start this one.

Naylor was street’s.ahead of the 4strikers we’ve got at the moment

We did have far better attacking players in the middle 5 though

Wonder who the captain will be? Did anyone notice who the captain was yesterday after Legge went off.

0-0 draw. They’ve failed to score in 7/13 games, us 5/13.

1-0 loss. 103rd minute goal bundled in off some sods backside.

We dust ourselves off and we go again though ey.
